Hi guys,
I've got this old Ford tacho. I think its out of a Capri originally.
The above is how it came, it was missing the loop wire from the back of it. I'm putting it into my 2-dial dash, and have made up a loop wire from pics I saw on the internets. That plugs into the black wires in behind the dash. You can see them on the bottom right of this pic.
But I was wondering what I plug into the other blade terminal on the back of the tacho. A guy in our car club has done it to his, but his car is an early mk1 and has a round plug and a voltage regulator on the back of it. Mine has a square plug and no reg, or the reg is somewhere different maybe. Mine looks like this.
I would guess that seeing as the tacho is out of a Capri then it would still need the 6V not 12? But where would I get that from? Has anyone got more of an idea about this than me. I bloody hate electrics.
