Just picked this up today after a nightmare getting it insured, initial plans are a good compounding and polish, LPG install with 200l plus capacity, followed by ply lining and removing the side windows to return it to van spec, then paint. Running a sweet sounding 2.0 pinto which is surprisingly torquey in such a big vehicle. Steering is nice and light too even when parking - i wasn't expecting that! Once its prettied up it'll be going out to work full time and being signed up in as period a artwork as I can manage. Photos are poo as it went dark before I took them....
Its eventually going to be my main vehicle and it's got to work for it's living so can't do too much with it, if I can find a set of inexpensive euroliners for the wheels they'll be going on - along with some zoomies just because I can
A big alloy aussie style roo bar wouldn't go amiss either...It'd look 'ard as nails then.

Quick update as the trip to New Zealand over December delayed things a bit, The van is now my main transport and working everyday, polishing is finally finished and it looks a lot better, MOT'd again fine in January, wooden bulkhead, ply lining and shelving now fitted in the back and all the bits are here now for the LPG install. Priority this week is to get the windscreen sealed properly as its leaking and I don't want the top of the dash rotting out. Although its got plenty of go when its only carrying tools its noticably lacking in get up and go when loaded up with materials so i'm looking at getting more go from the pinto for the time being, I've sourced another 205 block pinto with an EFI head so that will be going onto my bottom end (want to keep my low compression pistons) along with a 4 branch manifold and eventually a custom pipe going to zoomies on the drivers side basically just because I can. Worked out it was averaging 16mpg running about which hurt a bit so i've fitted a K&N copy cone filter which seems to have improved matters, not sure why as the emisions were ok on the test. Signage will be happening once its prettied up and I decide what to do about the windows.
After that and assuming I can make it work with the BLOS lpg carb its going to be turbo'd - I may go gas only at that point i'm not sure it depends on what I can find to control it all, if that doesn't yeild decent amounts of torque then longterm I'm on the scrounge for an overdrive box and a buggered v6 duratec to see what I can make fit to it, alternative power plans involve an Aussie Ford 4.1 straight 6 assuming I could find one over here.
Oh and it get masses of attention, although people seem to assume its much older than it actually is, I also got waved down to see if i wanted to sell it the other day!

I've still got my 4x4 but it's really suffering from rust now. I used to go on the Transit forum but having not used it for so long lost interest a bit. One day I will get it going again. Yours looks pretty tidy.
Got a little bit of time so managed to get some work done First 2 of 3 LPG tanks fitted, need some more straps for the big one the new ones I bought were too short, ordered them today, still need to set the correct angles of dangle for the multivalves, I'm hoping to fit another where the standard spare wheel goes, should be over 200 litres with luck so i'll have a decent range.
Additional gauges fitted, hopefully I should be able to get the fuel gauge to show the LPG level, all still to be wired up.
Additional temperature gauge is a temporary measure as the standard one doesn't work for any apparent reason. Trying to work out if I cut the dash insert to fit a modern DIN stereo cage or not
