1986 MK2 Fiesta XR2 - RS1800 - Classic Ford Show June 2018

Here is the fiesta - i bought it with no interior whatsoever and I'm just wiring in the motor - its in very good condition and recently been painted. Will be doing a full underside detailing on this as i just bought a ramp







Will fit the spots once ive finished under the bonnet

thanks for the comments. Its been painted by the previous owner (think he worked for audi so its a good job). Ive had to source every single clip and screw including a headlining for inside it except the dash and steering wheel. All the suspension, bottom arms etc is brand new, ive just fitted a brand new injection fuel tank and a magnex with system including four branch. I think its only missing two original front floor mats to make it complete and looking stock. Ive just started renting a unit so have bought a two post ramp so think i will paint the underside up red and bolt all the new stuff back on with braided fuel and lines etc. Not sure what I'm going to do with it as i fancy another cosworth so may sell it in the summer.

Will be getting some stainless steel tanks made up a crackle blacked to match the rocker and inlet at some point.

Its finally on the road and took it to rallyday at castle coombe on the weekend.

Got a couple of jobs to do but at least its useable.

Next job i think will be wilwood 4 pots as there is now a kit to get them under the pepperpots

Been to a few shows recently and won a top 20 at spring action day which was a surprise.

Unfortunately i ran out of electric last weekend but managed to get it home swapping batteries between two cars so new alternator to be purchased soon.

Managed to find a set of brand new front floor mats too so well chuffed with them.

Gutted as on the way back from castle coombe with the alternator problems a stone flew up off a truck and cracked the original 30 year old windscreen with reg number on

The car is in for colour detailing this week to get rid of the swirl marks and a couple of runs

nice car there how did you conect the ecu what wires did you use and what color is it

I followed the guide on xrtwo.com but it wouldn't run so i was left scratching my head and gave the car to a mate of mine who diagnosed that the harness was scrap. He then changed it over to a complete escort GTI harness and ECU so I'm not too sure to be honest as that seemed more difficult than using the rs1800 loom and ecu. Have a look on that forum and it should explain all - sorry but electrics is my weak point especially when it doesn't follow the diagram in my case. Ive put one in a xr3i cabriolet before and that was easier as they are injection to start with.

Brings back memories of my XR2 that I bought new back in the late 80's. You did well finding a good interior as well, lovely car.

Lowered the car 35mm but need to drop the front 50 really and got my split pepperpots made and fitted
