A reminder of why we do this And while the engine wasn't looking nearly as bad as it could it was still upsetting to behold, so a quick bit of loving was applied That's better - not perfect (she's a working car not a show queen) but better

Express Mot'd and a quick (well, brief!) maiden run up to Newlands Corner to play with the big bikes Rad should be ready in a week. Looking forward to getting it installed - these cars are never 'done', but she's very near to a blank near term 'to do' list - at which point we can turn our attention to the Cobra Cheers Matt

Bit late catching up on this... I was the chap who sailed past you in the layby in my brown Volvo - sorry again! Excellent work on getting everything sorted! Have to say I'm amused by the variety of your vehicles, from drag cars and 60s icons to one of the smallest, slowest road legal bikes. It is the spice of life I suppose... I was very close to having my Honda cub on the back of my car for RRG, but had left my prep too late

Shame the Cub couldn't make it, but glad to hear you've got one - mopeds rock! Cheers Matt

Seen this at the gathering looked awesome. I reckon its twice the length of my van ! bet its fun to park. Did you find the reason for the rad end cap splitting? Faulty or excessive pressure?

Seen this at the gathering looked awesome. I reckon its twice the length of my van ! bet its fun to park. Did you find the reason for the rad end cap splitting? Faulty or excessive pressure? It was either or both of mounting the oil cooler forward of the rad plus adding the electrical fan, or towing way more weight than we ever have before. We've towed an Elan on a light trailer on a hot day no bother, but this trailer was a very heavy one, the Grale weighs probably near double am Elan, we had a full size trolley jack probably another 50-100kg in tools and stuff we'd thrown in 'just in case', etc... she was fine on the flat but on the hills she was getting a bit warm. Add that to a period of very heavy traffic on the M25 on a warm day then a diversion up the 404M which is about a 2 mile climb, and it just overcame the seam Thinking is we'll get the super-duper 3Q core rad in and see how she goes up the same hill with the same sort of train weight - if all OK great, and if not we can look at repositioning the trans and oil coolers out of the main airflow to the rad. My guess is Plan A will sort it perfectly, but Plan B can be deployed as needed And after that she'll be finished! Yeah, right Cheers Matt

A mate of mine has a Honda Express sat in his garage... This has reminded me to resume my badgering for him to sell it to me... Not that I have any use whatsoever for it...
