Hi, I have just bought a 1963 Chevy C10 short bed fleetside pickup so I thought I would start a thread. It comes with a 350 V8 and a TH350 autobox. It has some mods to modernise it a bit. Halogen headlights. It now has power steering with the aid of a camero tilt column. Camero power disc brakes and calipers, not sure but may have the camero front clip. Inside it has the typical mexican blanket over the seat, an aftermarket steering wheel and and after market stereo. Under the bonnet/hood it has an after market filter, edelbrock carb and inlet manifold, Hooker manifolds and exhaust, chrome water pump and thermostat housing and a brake bias valve. With the truck being 50 years old there are a few problems I want to sort out but I will update the thread as I go. Only have a couple of pics at the mo taken on my phone so will hopefully get some better ones soon. Cheers AD

HMMMMM.... I like Trucks.
Nice truck, love the Rallye wheels.
Glad you posted up.
Your truck has some cool and useful mods. All the right stuff.
Looking forward to the evolution of it.
Shout if you need any (limited) help.
I think and hope that these 60-66 C10 trucks will be the next big thing in Chevy trucks.
Keep us updated.

Cheers Guys,
It may not evolve to quickly due to having a few other projects on the go as well, but I will update as and when I do.
I signed up to the website you suggested Grizz, will hopefully get chance to have a look round it over the weekend.
Cheers

Little update. Last night while driving the truck I noticed my drivers side head light was dimmer than the passanger. When I got home I noticed my drivers side side light and indicator weren't working and that my passanger side light was dim. So about lunchtime I decided to go out and have a look. After about 2 and a half hours of messing about I have managed to get both front indicators working and also the drivers side light, but now the passanger sidelight won't work. AAARRRHHH! I also managed to fix the horn as it wasn't working. Just a dodgey connection, nice easy fix. We like that. Heres a pic of the engine bay as I had the hood up. So I still have the passenger side light to sort and the dimm drivers headlight. Not a very productive time spent on the truck today. lol

Hi Adrian Martin spent hours with me after I failed to grt my headlights sorted. Up to the point of switching around the headlight switch, then refitted the old one along with a blast of WD40 and it all came back to action.
So check out and blow/lube up your dash switches. Seems dry contacts are a problem with them.
I scored a spare wheel and tyre yesterday from Martin as My truck never had a spare.

Nice one, cheers for the heads up. Was beginning to get cold and bored of not being able to find out what it was and then when the fault jumped, aahhhh! lol I think the switch is fine because the dash lights and rear lights work as they should, its just the fronts playing about.
That's good about the spare wheel. Mine has a spare but its different from the rest and has a different size tyre as well, but hey, fingers crossed I'll never need to use it.
Really need to source some heater pipes and connections as well. Its bloody freezing driving it with no heater.

My spare is totally wrong too.
Regarding the heater pipe. Check the outer diameter and buy some flexible hose, cut to length and fit.

I need to sort out the fitting first that fit in the inlet manifold and water pump. My father in law is a pressision tool maker so hopefully I'll take the blanking plugs to him and he will tell me the treads. Then i'll just need to buy the fittings and pipe.

So today I went out to try and finish what I started the other day regarding the side lights and indicators. Well today I was successful, now both front indicators and side light are working and are nice and bright. Here's a little pic. Have a good new year guys and girls. I'm off to a car show tomorrow in the truck, its in Stoney Stratford, Milton keynes. Is anyone else off to a show anywhere tomorrow.

I'm after an 1956 f100 But need to buy a house etc before I can scratch the itch. Few people on rods n sods are importing pickups like mad.

Yeah I was looking on there, Yeah there were plenty coming in. I ideally wanted a 49-53 chevy truck but could find one in my price range that I thought was worth it or didn't need more work than I was willing to put into it. Really wanted something I could buy and use straight away rather than have to go through. So I ended up getting this, bit newer than I wanted but I still like it.

I think in time to come you will be very pleased and thankfull that you dnagged your Ace of Spades. The 60 onward trucks wwre much more car like and modern so you kinda need to do less to them than the gorgeous older trucks. I was already speaking to a guy in California about buying a stunning 57 for the "right money" at $12k but someone bought it from under me, next day I found my truck. It has more and better spec than I was prepared to settle for. These trucks are only going up in value.

Don't get me wrong, I am very happy with the truck, its just I was looking for an earlier one when this one came along.
