This will be the 3rd time we've done this, "Car Club 18-30" is a trackday for modern classics that were designed or in production between 18-30 years ago, ie: 1984 to 1996. There are some exemptions to the age limit, but basically it's a trackday for cars that you don't often see on track, modern classics driven by chaps who want to enjoy a few laps in the sunshine without fear of getting pranged by some high-speed psycho in shiney Nissan GTR. The price is £80 per car, the format is open pit lane, there will be between 30 to 40 cars in total and the location is Blyton Park in Lincolnshire. The money needs paying in full by the end of March, latest, the event is on Friday 1st of August. All the info is online here > motorpunk.co.uk/about/the-motorpunk-car-club-18-30-event-pay-80-by-28th-march-for-an-opl-day-at-sunny-blyton-on-friday-august-1st/ or you can email 18-30@motorpunk.co.uk for info and advice. Comments? Suggestions? Let us know what you think. I hope to see you there!

Wow! This is selling out very quickly already and we've only been 'live' a week or so. Quite a bit of British Leyland stuff coming, plus some old Porsches, classic BMWs and a beautiful Alfa, amongst other things. No Frenchies yet though. I'll post up the entry list when I get two minutes.

Could we bring 1981 lancer turbos? We have 3 and also my 1986 200zr I believe the only one who has one on the road still? But if anyone gets within 3 feet I will be forced to abandon the tack day as I cannot risk it being touched. You will see once I finally make it to a meet I've spent last year sorting out my life so have been very busy but I did promise I'll bring some of the retro toys out for the guys to see and admire and vice versa. I'll be emailing you tomorrow, many thanks , B

This is not a bumper-to-bumper banger day, all cars coming are cherished and the idea is to get on track with some modern classics that perhaps haven't been on track before. We have refused entry for some cars/drivers considered perhaps a bit inappropriate for the event already, but your cars would be great. Please drop an email ASAP to 18-30@motorpunk.co.uk and we'll take it from there.

A little update: We've had one car drop out and I have a standby list of people who want to join us as long as my MX-5's MOT failure sheet. Ie: very. Instead of picking the first name on the standby list I thought I'd throw it open. I'd very much like to see some more oddball classics instead of yet another German sportscar on this event. I'll pick the most interesting car to take the final slot. I'm hoping it might be a retro rides kinda person. This is a gentle trackday for modern classics at Blyton Park on Friday 1st of August in the sunshine. Cars (ideally) should be examples of models designed or in production between 18-30 years ago (hence "car club 18-30"), they should also be cool, or quick or quirky. Cars older than this might be allowed as 'cougars' and younger ones as 'jailbait', depending if we think they're in the spririt of things. All cars must be approved as we catagorically do not want some modern japanese diesel MPV thing on track. There's a great line-up of cars (and people), would you like to join us? It's £80 for the full day, there'll be beer and frolics the night before too, if you fancy it. Email 18-30@motorpunk.co.uk for more info.

Well, that was a blast! Highlights included a Triumph TR8 which spanked everyone, a Lola TD70 rep, a few old Porsches (including mine, black flagged on lap 2, d'oh!) some lovely Alfas, RX7, BMW E12 and a stripped out Bentley Turbo R which was awarded "the most MotorPunk car of the day" and given one hot lap towing a caravan for reasons I can't explain but am still laughing about. There was a great mix of cars and people and I can't wait for the next one. Lots of action shots and a write up on www.motorpunk.co.uk soon

Did the Gordon Keeble turn up? Quite a funny story, that. The chap's Keeble is kaputt, so he bought a Chimaera, which didn't start, so he bought an XJ6 at the last minute and after all that he couldn't get away from work in time! Here's the winning car. Check the trophy I'll post more pics when I get a tick

MotorPunk Trackday IV - May 1st 2015
Hi Fellas. Sorry for resurrecting a dead thread but it seemed the best way to let you good folks know about the 2015 event at Blyton on the 1st May.
Run to the same CarClub 18-30 rues as last year, meaning that it's aimed at modern classics that were in production between 1997 and 1980 (no, not curse word at sums. 1980 because Thomas Cook now allows 35 year olds on its Magaluf-bound STD-riddled bonkathons). Cars should be 'Cool, Quick or Quirky' according to the rules … not normally a problem for the people of RR. If your steed is a bit too young, but meets all other criteria, you might just scrape in under the 'Jailbait' waiver. The 'Cougar' clause for older stuff is much more flexible, but drop us a line if you are unsure. So far we have the usual gaggle of Porsche, mk1 MX-5, BMW and eclectic middle-aged track toys as well as V12 XJS, Camaro, Bentley and an uber-cougar E-Type in the VIP session.
darryl@motorpunk.co.uk
The plan is to meet up in Lincoln the night before and head to Blyton bright and early on Fri 1st May 2015. Entry is a bargain £89 per car. See my sidekick's pics in the gallery above for inspiration. Come on, you know you want to!
