Drop the "Hoodride" from the title. It cheapens what is a cool little car.
Oh and be prepared to touch the whitewall paint up constantly!!!

Right the accelerator pedal- Used some scrap steel and cobbled this together. Bonded a nice thick piece of rubber to it. And bolted it in place. JD Posty dropped these off this morning too. Can't wait to get 'em on.

Wow that looks an an usually wide white wall! Red wheels suit its striping well, though I'm looking forward to seeing the hubcaps back to finish it.

It's pretty annoying that you can't easily get whitewall tyres proper, I reckon I'd just put them on EVERYTHING.

Ride height aside, the choice of ultra wide whites and bright red wheels compliments the car perfectly, you couldn't have got that more right.

I had one of those, even the same colours and the same revolutions wheels with 185's! There's a lot of them out here in NZ, testimony to how reliable they were, lots of Rootes cars were underrated and this is one of them. Mine and I'm guessing most NZ ones, had a 1725 engine although I'm told the 1600 is the smoother engine. Id drop an overdrive gearbox in from one of the other hillman saloons (not sure how easy that is to do) and putting decent shocks on them make a big difference, also a decent weber carb and the usual range of upgrades decent distributor etc will make a difference. Good luck, cool car!

Good luck, cool car! Thanks mate, it's a 1600, O/D box is a good idea and probably something I will look at in the future as it is a bit harsh at anything past 60mph, a new distributor has been fitted out of necessity but it's still running the original carb and I'm getting about 25mph so not too bad on juice, it had Revolutions on it when I bought it but I took them off to go for a bit more of a '60s cruiser look. Nice to know they are still getting love on the other side of the world, were they Super Minxes in New Zealand or Humber 90s?
