Cheers, and thanks for the links! I want that rear window from the blue one!I cannot offer you that window Justin, but if this can fit or be made to fit, you are welcome to it. Post copied from Christmas day. Last week a pickup truck lost its canopy spectacularly a couple of miles from here.
It ended up in pieces on the side of the road, and a few days later it was tossed over the Armco barrier into the bushes.
I have wanted to build a removable aluminium canopy for the rear of the truck that can be used for camping if mounted on a set of legs.
The rear sliding glass was the only bit that was not broken up, and I saw it as a perfect addition to the canopy, against the cab rear.
So armed with some leather gloves and a hacksaw and spare blade, I went to see if it was still there, and found it......
Cut out the glassfibre back frame and removed the glass before the council come to clear it away.
Now sitting in front of a fire, cheese and biscuits and a nice coffee......
Perfect end to a great day.
Looking forward to finding a cheap or free aluminium caravan to strip the ally sheeting from to cover the canopy in, using a pair of stainless portholes I got from the tip for this job some time ago..... and will still figure out the rear door and latch/catch.
Watch this space too.

grizz Thanks for the offer mate! Depends on the measurements, no need to cut it up if it's too ill fitting, especially if you can use it. Texting you. Edit: cheers for measurements, tooo big though, and thanks again

This is a great little truck aux, and I have a feeling that the various vehicles you've messed about with always end up with a great 'look'.

That looks fantastic - polished lips would be too much I think. They really suit the truck.
I think I need a pick up in my life.

Cheers! I've got an mx5 engine and box, but I enjoy driving it too much to take it off the road, tempted to see through the summer first.... By then I may be able to get an sr20... Hmmm...

You see, that's what I'm talkin' about Cheers Seth! I may reindex the front torsion bars and drop it a wee but more at the front yet, but it drives pretty sweet as it is.

That is beginning to look... the tits. I've just got the white one on the road so if anyone else wants to get their hands on one of these little trucks, you know where I am.

I hope you keep that rear bumper on. I saw so many pickups in the USA in Cali when I went and all the working trucks (rather than the posing ones) had them - I thought they looked really cool, especialy when on the front too.

Yeah keeping the rear bumper, certainly for now! Plus, it's already saved my tailgate from a vee dub who thought a nudge in stationary traffic would help things along.

Decided against the mx5 engine swap, going to keep it old school and that means no bulkhead and tunnel choppery, so started doing a few things to the interior as I've little play time at the moment. Glove-box stereo install Vibro/sound deadening, and installing carpet with an underlay. The 521's never came with carpets, just rubber mats that liked to trap water, so there's no pattern to work off. Bought some proper auto underlay and lightweight carpet from a local trimmer, just see how it goes. Silent Coat in first... Underlay, and started carpeting... This hugely exciting update is to be continued....
