I saved this from an ill fate and have set about cleaning it up.
From what I understand its a rare blue/black colour.
I was going to go over it properly sort it out and ebay it but I really don't have the time now I have a full time contract at work.
Its 1993 2l 8v 110,000 and I drove it about 40 miles in total and the previous owner drove it about 40 miles since its last MOT in September 2013.
The shell itself is really clean and does have a working sunroof but it does have a few little issues.
The sunroof and passenger door have allowed the damp in, I have adjusted the seal on the sunroof so it no longer leaks, but the frame is rusty.
Drivers seat lower lumber support is worn thread bare, and the tilt forward cable needs adjusting and a drivers side seat belt clasp.
Ash tray is missing.
Headlining has sagged in places and has mould staining spots.
Passenger side fog light is missing as is the cover for the tow eye.
Air con has had the belt removed so don't know of its function.
The water light flashes on the dash board, but it uses no water and hasn't over heated (double checked with a infrared thermometer) and the fans kick in and out as they should.
Fuel gauge doesn't seem to work either as I found out to my peril when it ran out.
The number plate holder has been broken.
Its lowered but unsure how much its lowered.
2 sets of wheels including the OE wheels, unfortunately I seem to think it will want at least 1 tyre and all 4 on the OE wheels are done.
I've not had any issues with it starting and even after it had been parked up for months before I got it we just put a spark plug in it charged a battery and it struck straight up.
Handling is a little crashy but then it is really low.
All in it seems a reliable car with a few little things that could be done so its ideal for someone that wants something to tinker with. It had been stood a while but everything seems to work some bits like the wipers still a little slow but they havn't been used and are getting better.
I checked to see if I could have it on my classic insurance policy and they were fine with it and performance although not record breaking is still respectable for a 20 year old 2l German Coupe.
I was going to keep it and clean it up with ideas of possibly using it over summer time, but I fancy something different or could do with a bit of space back.
Any way a couple of pictures.
I Have jet washed the outside so the paint is a little better than the pictures but am hoping if I have time to go over it and see what it looks like with a good polish.
I had it up for £500 so any offers in the region would be nice.
