I couldn't agree more, though if it's really worth a lot of money once restored to standard spec I'm afraid it won't stay this way.
You could always do the same to a '70 model and no one would mind...

I remember seeing Mustangs and other Muscle cars looking like that parked on side roads in the 80's when they were only worth a few grand, that's what it looks like to me, an 80's custom that's been pushed into a barn and forgotten for decades. Agree it will probably be resored back to standard, especially with it being a desireable manual 67/68 fastback. Just as long as it's not turned into another (Yawn) Bullitt clone

Ooooh. Rear arches look to have been widened with Plasticine, but that is a perfectly acceptable method when the end result looks as damn cool as this. I agree, it'd be a shame to restore it to standard - it tells an ace story.

It does have a certain appeal. I too am old enough to remember the American & LHD section in Autotrader with all manner of V8 wonderfulness for less than my dad paid for his Dolomite (no offence to Dolomite drivers but you know how you are when you're 11).

if deathproof was a mustang, this would be it.
i'd quite happily roll in that the way it is, although i reckon the cars been living on the beach for at least 20years

Indeed I was in anguish when my old dear dad bought a 2nd hand MK1 Granada out of the old auto trader which cost nigh on twice as much as a 2nd hand MACH1 Mustang in 1983. Granny cost 900 quid, the MACH1 was 500 quid.. oh the days.....

Wonder if he had the Mustang from Le Marginal in mind when he did it?

I'm not a big fan of Mustangs, prefer Mopar or GM, but that is awesome! Looks brilliant, would drive it like I was in a 70s car chase movie and try and fish tail everyone I came across!

Totally awesome looker. Best left alone. But,it'll be "restored" with new bonnet, boot, quarters, wings, floors, engine, axle and gearbox and be sold as better than new to some tool with money to look at in his "portfolio of investments" :-( I'd drive it everywhere everyday and love it boo hoo.....
