A friend of mine owns a Vectra C which has a annoying fault.
Hen the vehicle is parked the light on the rear left cluster stays on as if the headlamps are on. I've checked it's not the parking light. I've changed the board the light bulbs go into and the bulb however the light stays on constantly as I say it's definitely not the parking light but does look like it. The front lights are off can anyone help please !!!

Vectra C? Yea. That won't be the bulb PCB, it'll be something like the SIM unit or the electrical centres. You need a FULL code read or a trip to an auto-sparky. That doesn't sound like it's going to be a simple fix.

I was hoping to avoid that it's annoying how what should be a simple fix is so complicated Its modern, it won't or ever be simple. And I don't say that as one of those 'modern car doomsdayer' people, I am a tech at a used car forecourt, and 9 times out of ten people part-ex because they want out of something with a fault.

That's the truth I have got back into working with cars and they are sooooo complicated now I stupidly thought swapping the light cluster would sort the problem :-)

Sounds wrong but try changing the indicator relay - if they are anything like the Corsa C's they fail randomly and cause all sorts of wierd and wonderful problems, also have you checked they aren't leaving the indicators turned on when parking?

Hi, did you ever get this problem sorted. If so what was it. I have the same problem on my vectra c 04 and trying all sorts of things to resolve it. Doing my head in not knowing.

Make sure the doors are all closed. Wires in the harness where it goes from the body into the door eventually breaks. I had the same problem. Started with the window not working on the passenger door card, then light coming on. Eventually no more central locking, could only lock with the key. Auto electrician sorted it out while I waited, said it was pretty common...It does have to be re flashed with a code reader,as it uses canbus....
