I'm hoping someone might be able to help.
One of the fleet is a Mk3 Astra with the 1.6 twin cam engine fitted. It hasn't done a lot of miles but has been running fine for the last 2 years. It's developed a fault now and it's got me stumped.
It was first noticed as a hesitation on the throttle when driving normally. I have been trying to find out what was going on and have had it idling on the drive. When it starts messing about it has a bit of a cough then runs a few hundred rpm more then normal, any small throttle imput and it hesitates but when you press harder it will rev up OK.
The fault will just appear, stay for a while and when it goes the car runs normally !
So far I have fitted new plugs, cleaned out the oil and other junk from the inlet manifold and throttle body but it still seems the same.
I'm hoping the high idle and hesitant throttle might ring a few bells with someone.
