Once again it has been a while since I have updated this, we bought the green one... Didnt spend loads on it, it does need a lot of work and took almost a month to figure out what was wrong with it! That is now MOT'd and been used a few times, needs quite a bit of welding so will fit that in this year hopefully. Back to the blue one got a bit more done and now sat on its wheels, its been a bit of a rough year so not done much else... but since deciding this will be my wedding car... I better hurry up and get it sorted! First time outside in several months, and looks a bit more blue Ordered a couple more bits and the doors are now on... but need some adjustment. Next up give the brakes a once over again (been a while and not sure where I was) then drop the engine in, ready for the summer

I am a fan of the sportpack look, but quickly realised that this has been very poorly done... so I will be removing it, I have swapped the wheels back to the original set, which looks very funny in the larger arches. It drives alot better with the narrow wheels too

Pushed it outside today to tidy the garage, a bit more space to work around it plus I found that missing spanner

No new images as nothing really to see but indicators now have wiring and the gearbox is currently placed in the car A little more work to get the front brake lines in place and then to build fit the engine and box properly

Started to fit the brake servo today, only to realise that the plate I needed to fit between the servo and the firewall is in anther of my garages... 20 miles away, maybe another day!

I can't be the only one to notice the increase in cars out an about during the breaks in the weather... determined to finish mine ASAP. This weekend I did a few jobs I have been putting off... little bits that are fiddly, annoying and boring. Having spend a couple of hours doing this then a few more tidying and sorting the garage I felt it was time to crack on with the next stage... Engine... meet gearbox, gearbox this is engine! They have spent a good couple of years apart now, so thought it best to reunite. Peeled and removed the remaining gaskets from the engine with the new ones at the ready.

Small update today, fitted the clutch/flywheel housing, and timing plate is in place, should have timing done during the week. Fit the head gasket and check for oil leaks... but we won't find any because A series engines don't leak.......
... Okay some do... but this one won't....
... I hope!

Timing set this evening... I have always avoided engine related things... but with a methodical approach, a stack of youtube videos and the advice of a few members of a facebook mini club we are done

Head secured, valve clearance set and I have replaced the dodgy wheel cylinder... Refit rear drums and wheel then test the brake lines

So the car passed its MOT the second time, just in time for the car to be used for my wedding on Thursday, sadly on Wednesday night it broke down, couldn't get it started, turned out the clutch had become stuck since the adjustment for stop had come loose and allowed the clutch to be pushed further than it should... Pleased to say it has now been fixed! In a strange turn of events the car is now for sale (£2500)... I will post more details in a couple of weeks if not sold. I need the space for another car, something I have wanted to own for a while now and the opportunity to purchase it came and I couldn't not buy it... more on that later though
