Not my fault that the car doesn't run, you havn't a clue and no one can fix it Dude - the guy is trying to sell his car - delivery price is nothing to do with the guys price. Thats your end,No good trying to knock him down because you cant fetch it yourself. No good trying to annoy him, far as I can see he as been as honest as he can be. And for the price he is asking for and the size of it its a blinking bargain. Unfortunately it wouldn't fit down my Cul De Sac, nevermind my drive ! GLWS thanks i cant stand people who try and nock ya down when ya say no to there offer they get the hump etc ive no time for these kind of people

It's you who took the hump, I offered £1200 I would have went to !1350 if pushed and yes getting it transported is a big deal because if it doesnt drive then how is anyone going to get it back home so you do have to factor in that cost and also at the same time factor in the cost of fixing it !
I've been in the motor trade more years than you and bought more cars than you ever will, and by the way
No one has made you an offer or is battering your door down to buy it, are they?
Fred is talking nonsense that you don't ask for anything off the price because of transport.

It states "£1800 no less" in the title. I'd assume that is the amount the seller would like to see in his hand, not minus transport or repair costs. Pretty simple, regardelss of how many cars someone has or hasn't bought in the past.

No good ranting dude, and No, the transport is always down to the buyer If you don't want to handle the price of transportation, move to something closer which moves

Why are you actually offended by an offer for a car? It's a good way of finding out someone's lowest price. I'm not a car trader but I've had plenty cars, and saved myself a good few hundred quid a few times by making low offers. Not everyone prices their cars correctly either or they need the cash so you can sometimes get a bargain. I certainly wouldn't expect someone to be offended by the fact I'd taken into consideration £300 cost though. A week or two down the line you might have considered obzolete's offer of £1350, but you might never have known that's what he would have went to, if he hadn't posted on here cos you spat the dummy. The fact the price has dropped a couple of times and it has an undiagnosed running problem means it's a gamble. I don't think obzolete set out to offend you.

Engine problem so what its worth 1800 all day every day and you know it. Stop bein a typical trader trying to beat him down. w.t.f has where YOU live got to do with how much his cars worth

It's only worth as much as what someone is willing to pay for it. What the current owner paid for a bit of metal last year is irrelevant.
Someone else might come along and pay the £1800. If they do then fair play. An offer was made, it was declined, end of story.
Such a tragedy. First world problems eh?

tbh it still drives it will cruise at 60/70 all day its idle its not happy Why has nobody spotted this when saying its too far away, it'll need an ocean liner booking to get it home etc? Worst case the problem gets worse and you breakdown somewhere and get AA'd/ RAC'd back, best case is a decent run clears it out

still for sale had it out yesterday and tbh was running loads better i might found some one who can look it on tuesday aswell so might be fixed with any luck but at the mo its still for sale what was the outcome of this comment?? did someone look at it and not be able to help? bit more info on the idle issue please, as in coming off a junction at speed, slow down to a stop and it cuts out or just runs lumpy as if its gonna cut out? i'm interested but i'm also thinking surely there is someone on R n S who can come and sort this out for you instead of taking such a financial hit on it? as you say even if its "darn sarf" you say it runs fine at speed so the distance shouldn't be an problem I'm not trying to offend here as I think the for sale thread has took an awkward turn already with the price arguments.

Berating the seller because he won't agree to your terms? Yeah, that'll make him knock money off.
Sorry, but wanting money off the advertised price to have the car transported is the oldest, lamest excuse in the book. I've sold loads of cars too - and if someone wants money off 'because I've got to come from miles away' I tell them to buy another example closer to home.
The car is where it is. That you happen to be a distance away is not the seller's problem.

When I had issues with my Corvette-engined truck they had their engine guy sort me out. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the place, but it will come to me and I'll update... *Edit... it's this place: automotiveclassiccustom.weebly.com/index.html More a fab shop but, like I said, sorted out my running problems so couldn't hurt to give them a bell.

This is the reason I hate selling cars. Reasons like these are why two cars I had for sale ended up getting stripped for spares and baled. Life's too short. Not that this should happen to this Caddy - it's too good for that.

OK Lets get things straight here.
I wasn't bothered that he turned my offer down, in fact he said the lowest he'd go was £1600 and it was him who started crying and had the attitude problem. I wasn't using distance as an excuse,I said it as a reason for offering a bit lower. I've bought cars in America and of course you make a lower offer! To the guy who just walks up and gives the asking price, good for you, I'd like to accompany you on your next car purchase where you don't haggle. People have low balled me many times but I've never started crying and bitchin' about it I've used it to open a discussion and if they walk away then at least I have them on file in case I find something they will be able to afford or want. I still don't hear or see any of you guys on here making an offer oh wait you don't offer I still don't hear anyone of you buying the car.
'nuff said
