Hi guys, Weve had, and currently have, SR20DET Micra K11's to Split Screen Campers to the odd skyline and 200sx.. Loads of MX5's in between. Rather than a few threads about some of our interesting cars, I thought I'd just Stick them all in one place and give you guys an opportunity to see some of the dumb stuff we do to our own cars. ( I'll keep the Customers stuff and boring stuff to the 'garage comunities' Thread ) Just easier for me to keep everything on one place. Were a Speedshop located in North Manchester Doing mostly Old J stuff but we do a lot of Custom Bodywork and Tuning on pretty much anything. ... I'll try and post some of the interesting fabricating and paintwork stuff in progress! --------------------------------------------------------------------- Heres a few of our own cars and friends cars from the last 12 months.. Completely painted this for a bro.. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Heres Daves CRX, Weve done loads on this, but were looking at a Power increase this year. Its currently a JDM V-tec with exhaut system, but looking at either K20 or B18 or Turbo ? Running Genuine Mugen Kit Meister R Coilovers Rota Torques 15" Mapped ECU Debadged Bonnet, and complete inside and out Repaint on Honda Chanpionship White ---------------------------------------------------------------------

So White is the new Black or something Right? Well one of the workshops best friends had his MK4 Supra in for a Freshen up. He Ummed and Ahh'd over a few colors and looks.. from a F&F Tribute to a Subtle color change.. Micheal Has already sourced a ZunSport front grill in black, and a JUN Front Lip. Heres What we did. 1) Complete breakdown, Handles off, doors stripped, handles and mirrors off, All rubber weather strips removed. Then the main concern was repairign some corrosion and there was a bad repair on the door that has cracked the filler.. so that was removed, a new plate welded in and smoothed. 2) Removed Rear Washer hole, Wiper Hole, and Ariel and blanking plates welded in.. subsequently smoothed out. 3} Repaired around a dozen dings and scuffs 4) Masked and Primed, Wet Sanded repairs and prepped for paint. 5) Completely Painted in a Mercedes White with exception of the arch rubbers, and plastic sill covers and washer jets. ( door handles, Mirrors, Bonnet, Spoiler, Rear Quarter Vent Spat things - painted separately ) 6) We gave a light gloss Smoke tint to the side repeaters and Front indicators, and did the 'T' bootlid badge gloss black. ... All in the details! 7) Re-assembled, ColorSand and Machine polish the top half of the car.. Looks like a Bloody NEW CAR!! .. Did very well on a tight budget, This was borderline - show quality repaint. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ... Hopefully it doesn't look to 'Tuner J' and has a Modern Classic look to this 90' Icon. Personally I think its the latter, with the lack of 'Tuner' Decals, Stupid Exhaust, Chrome wheels etc... its basically a Standard Body with some subtle smoothing and quality paint.. but then I would say that. Took us around a week for the whole Shebang.. and the look on his face was Priceless when he collected it!.. Best part of my job! I know other colors would have looked great but each to our own .. least its not Lamborghini Orange! ..Comments???

Looks great, got worried when I started reading the plans. Cant fault it although I would have left it black and maybe lost the spolier lol.
Nice to see a propper respray, hate mask up paint jobs.

A nice selection of cars you have had through there, the Mk4 supra has always been a favourite of mine, and I regret not buying one when I had the chance, I liked the way they had the wrap around dash that seemed to point all to the driver. I would like to have seen a spoiler delete too, as I think the shape lends itself to the smooth look. But each to their own, and looks like a great paintjob on that one.

Thanks for the compliments guys. .. I agree about the spoiler.. Personally I would have lost it with everything else we took off.. But then again, it would be slammed on the deck with some 'scene' VIP wheels.. But I'm a bit of a suckler for that look!

So we picked an MX5 for some messing around, We actually picked up another that looked like it had seen a WW2 Trench.. ( Might have seen the breaking thread ) So.. This is an EUNOS Roadster as its an Import from the land of the Rising Sun. Imported in 2002 and a few JDM Goodies.. RAYBRIGS anyone? Genuine California Edition .. or something. .. SO 350Quid with No tax or Test.. and a poor repair from a Knock at the Front. .. G-reddy Turbo Manifold and Elbow on its way!.. .. Check out the Rankness of the Color!.. Surly a color change in order. We'll see what old paint we can mix up at the back of the spray booth. Obviously the lexus lights are going.. .. Nice spoiler and coils due soon too!! For the Money.. You JUST CANNOT Beat an imported MX5 for the spec.. and the Money. .. the Freakin electric windows and Aircon even works perfectly!

So heres a bit of a update on the Eunos..
Coilovers are here.. not had chance to get pics.
Ducktail spoiler and Garage VARY splitter are here..
.. I really want a Garage VARY rear light assembly.. the single round light type.. and considering they cost crazy money... anything non essential needs to cost sub £50 for the mx5..
So decided to make our own version. ( bear with us.. it wont look curse word. it WILL look good )
I don't know how familier anyone reading this is with moulding and prototype making but there are certain ways of making a one off piece, in order to then mould again for future copies should you wish.
SO with the spare Import Centre plate surround we had. I ordered (£16 delivered ) a pair of eunos rear lights to donate to the cause. These were bonded and trimmed inside so the 'single piece' could be removed and refitted for measuring and shaping purposes.
The idea is to make a smooth 'flush' piece.. then this get moulded and remade. This single skin of GRP can then be Cored and shaped and modified to the new final design.. then That gets moulded and you have your final piece.
Obviously a set of easily sourced rear round lenses are going to be used to create the piece.
Few pics of progress..

So the Eunos Progressed a bit.. We Sold the Turbo kit, as we needed the car moving out of the workshop ASAP.. so we Threw an EBay 4 Branch Stainless on.. and put all the car back together.. Its still in different Colors.. but the COils are on.. Full Stainless Exhaust System and the car is LOW.. We went to BUXTON Practice drift day and we Went to TILSTOCK the weekend After.. I removed the splitter before it was totally destroyed.. .. Now obviously the car runs LOW but it looks badass on the 15x8.5's and draws a lot of looks on the motorway as its skimming the ground.. I'm keeping the Crazy ride height as its not a Daily Drive, and There is no speed bumps I go over, getting to work and home so I can Mooch about as a Weed Cutter which is fun. NEXT step is some more Mods to aid the Drifting, such as a Hydro and a new clutch. Also picked up a few spare sets of MX5 Alloys on ebay and skid wheels..

Current Injuries are a Cracked Front bumper, and cracked NS front TSI.. ( anyone got a spare for sale? Cheap.. x )
.. Other than that its just Skidmarks up the sides, De-Lam Marks and a few wall scuffs..
There cars a Built SO strong.. Its literally a few days of, off the limiter, fun.
.. NOT a drop of Oil or water used.. Even the slipping clutch is still hanging in there.

So heres a few bits of curse word Ive sourced for the MX5 venture of fun. Some crappy Skirts of Gumtree for a tenner.. Too big for what I'm after. So I might pursue the idea of trimming them down.. or i'll sell them on. Theres a Hydro Wand for the Skids funtimes. .. and to go with my leather retrimmed that's been started inside.. Theres a NARDI Replica which is kinda convincing if you've never seen a Nardi. Roll on the Respray! .. The banded steelies are for sale if anyone is interested..

That SR20 k10 looks awesome! What a shame it got killed. I'm looking at getting another k10 for a project car, My last one ended up being an MA10s powered beasty running 98bhp, LOTS of fun . Apart from custom engine mounts, did you come across any difficulties getting the sr20 in? I'm assuming custom driveshafts and some suspension mods up front? Awesome collection btw!
