Hi to all, This is my sunny day play thing 1985 Opel Monza GSE in Carnelian Red metallic
Owned 4 years. Had been cared for by previous owner for 19 years. It had been dry stored for about 6 years so I've done alot of recommissioning and preventative maintenance to it It had some replacement panels an respray about 14 years ago I've been enjoying it on sunny days and going to classic car rallies It went to a Monza specialist 2 years ago for an underbody restoration, so the underside is solid and all components were shotblasted and repainted. Stainless exhaust fitted at the same time 135,000 miles and it doesn't burn or drip a drop of oil
A true child of the 1980's with the digital dash (same as on Astra GTE) and headache inducing pattern on the seats!

Tasty! I love these motors and yours looks like a tip-top example...
You should try and get the images on here rather than the links! There is a direct image link (4th link down I think) on Photobucket...

Thanks, I usually use that direct image link for other forums, but it didn't seem to work here on RR on my first attempt. Original post now corrected

Very nice indeed. Not a fan of red on cars bit the Carnelian is an exception.
Derek at GM6 likes it a lot.

Thanks for the warm welcome - nice to see some familiar faces here too!
The aim with this car is to keep it as original as possible. I'm always amazed by the guys who can and do modify their cars to make them better, however this car (primarily a show car) will be kept as Opel intended for as long as I can.
Pragmatic changes will inevitably take place (the stainless exhaust being a case in point) as parts supplies dwindle
I was so glad to find an unmolested example 4 years ago - the only mods I know of being a shortened gear lever and the original headlamp wiper arms / motors swapped for Saab ones!

Always, always loved these. That underside, my Sunday dinner is looking for a plate, it could easily be eaten off that.
Fail to the Aussies for not bringing it down under as an 80's Monaro.

Absolutely stunning. As the official RR Omega nut, I have a real thing for RWD Vauxhalls... never seen one in that colour before either!

That's a stunning looking car. It certainly belies it's mileage. I've always had a soft spot for Monzas and that looks outstanding in that colour - a welcome change from the usual white ones.
