Anyone capable or want shoe horn a new engine into my mgb?

Right then bit of a long shot but I'm looking for someone that's able to fit a more modern engine and gearbox into my mgb.
Haven't really decided on what engine yet i,d like to talk it through to who,s taken on the job, If anyone.
Although my short list would ideally be
Volvo T5
V6 cosworth
Rover 2.0 turbo

No cowboys through if i wanted a cowboy job i could do it myself 
So anyone know of anyone that does this sort of work?
I know its not going to be cheap but don't mind paying for a proper job.
In south wales if possible.

Have you considered a Rover V8 ? Their conversions are well documented and parts to fit available "off the shelf".

I'm sure there is a build thread of a 2.0 Rover turbo into a BGT on here in "Readers Rides". It is not too much hassle.
Also in South Wales Ifan Miller has a workshop and has done engine transplants.

V8 has been done to death i,d like something a bit different although i wouldn't rule it out its something i,d like to talk through with who,s ever going to do the job.
Don't want to do it myself as i know i,l get curse word off and i,l end up with a non driving car worth a lot less than it is now.

Stating the obvious but you will probably need to facter in a new axle as well , and it may need narrowing as well .

From what I've read, the MGB rear axle is a pretty solid thing, should be fine with the Rover turbo engine at least, may depend on what sort of power/torque levels you'd be looking at for the other two

Edit: The guy in this link has used a B axle with the V8 LSD with a Cosworth V6 www.mginfo.co.uk/upgrades4mgs/Engines/mgb_cosworth.html

Looking at the amount of work involved, I'd hate to think how much it would cost to get someone else to swap one in :/

You may also have to factor in the cost of upgrading the suspension a bit or at least the brakes (though the standard ones are quite effective)

I,l be stripping the engine bay and box out myself then collecting all the parts that i at least know i,l need.at that point.
Should give who,s ever doing the engine swap a clean slate with a load of parts to crack on with.
Would have a go myself but don't have a garage and its not the sort of thing i,d want to do on the drive.

Just a word of warning (- from experience)whilst it is possible to put just about any engine into any car, the more common conversions are that because they benefit from existing knowledge and thus they tend to get completed in a reasonable timescale at a fairly predictable cost. Once you venture into the unknown then the time - and costs will escalate - significantly. If you are paying somebody else as well, then the cost can be frightening. Taking engines in and out, designing and fabricating one off parts, modifying bodyshells, finding suitable components and altering others all take time.
....... Then modern engines tend to need much more electrics with ECU's, sensors etc....and then there is re-registration....
But - good luck - and there are lots on here who are happy to offer advise and support.

Ive been in contact with Ifan on R&N and going down to have a chat with him next week and see what he thinks.
Rover V8 as been said is the most comman so I'm not going to rule that or anything out just yet.

But a T5 powered mgb would be something special if possible...

We do this kinda thing.

But would lean towards a more modern japanese turbo engine.. All alloy, twin cam, injection

Powerful lightweight, reliable, and economical for the performance.

SR20DET gets my vote. More power and cheaper than the S2K engine, still orientated for RWD, capable of more power with tuning, looks and sounds good, plentiful.

There are lots of good engine out there but my plan is to keep the price of the donor car to under £500 leaving more money for the labour costs.
Plus theres the cost of the gearbox/axle on top.
If i had a far bigger budget i guess it would have to be a M3 engine

I can remember years ago the editor of practical performance car was trying to put a T5 engine in his own amazon but cant remember what box.

I think the Volvo M90 gearbox is meant to fit to the T5 engine iirc..
