Hi, an introduction from me. Saw the post from the fella in Scotland restoring the 405 SRi, and thought, yeah, wanna follow that; lets sign up. So that's kinda my primary reason for doing so There are also occasions I need help [half-deliberate double-entendre], so that'd be nice too sometimes: obvious things to mind are use of a Press, use of a Car Trailer, short-term off-road storage, use of large vice, inside work area. All my work is done kerbside! Me: I'm a 40-something fella, got no money, but do have time; bit of a fan of Peugeot/Citroen XUD Diesels, run a 405 which is big enough to serve as 'Camper' for the missus & me for our hols, very frugal despite its size and pleasantly styled, unusual sight now too: a bit slow off the mark coz its non-turbo, but thats a trade off I'm happy to make Favourite show is Techno-Classica in Essen, Germany; drove there back in 2014, its not as far as you'd think: right up my street it is. If you go, look up "Landschafts Park" nearby which is an old Ironworks turned into a park: which is incredibly impressive, partly due to its sheer scale. We also took in Amsterdam as part of that 'round trip', which is such a doddle to drive to via Harwich if you prefer road to air; and has a lot to offer besides the obvious. Got loadsa skills to share and also lots of info about what to see & do for free in all sorts of places, especially Paris, Amsterdam & Scotland, which are our favourite holiday destinations; so if you're going, feel free to ask.

Hi, just noticed this section, so here we go..
I'm Richard at age 41 and are a total nutter for Ford Capris. My first car was a Capri in 95' and since 96' I'm been a member of the Norwegian Capri club. Whitin the club I've been the spare part man, judge at several club meetings and now the webmaster of their site (can't a thing about handeling a website so training will be given later.
My list of retro cars owned in the past:
#1 77' Ford Capri 2.0S (v6) - was fitted with 2.8 carb engine, slot mags, flat black - scrapped due heavly rusted #2 75' Ford Capri 1600L - fitted the 2.8 engine from car #1 - was my dream build, fitted loads of new panels, sold 10 years later. #3 79' Ford Capri 3.0S - fitted with x-pack bodykit, Turbo rear spoiler, 15" RS wheels, 3 spoke RS steering wheel - scrapped due rust. #4 74' Ford Capri 1600GT - fitted with 3litre drivetrain, x-pack bodykit, ducktail spoiler, 8x13 Allycat wheels, Recaro seats. #5 80' Ford Capri 2.3GT I belive - did a resto job, just interior and bits left but had to sell it to cover some bills. #6 86' Ford Sierra XR4X4 2.8i - the least favorite car of my list, did not feel it, a joke 4x4 system horrible at winter. #7 86' Ford Scorpio 2.0GL (Granada Mk3), - the only rwd on my list without V6, got scrapped after a head on collision. #8 82' Ford Escort Mk3 1.6L - RST seats, Mk4 front bumper. Loved this car but the front chassis legs let go. #9 94' Ford Mondeo 2.0GLX estate, ex sivilian cop car, 60/40 lowering kit, 2.5" exhaust, 7.5x17 wheels. Served me very well. #11 78' Ford Capri 2.3S - my current project car as posted in the retro rides section. Ongoing resto job.
Car number 10 on my list is my current daily, a 01' Mk3 Mondeo estate in 1.8 125hp Trend trim.
As you can see I'm a Ford man, but like most modified cars, stock is not my thing. Also have soft spots for old VW's, Hot Rods, Muscle cars and retro supercars as Countach etc. I usually don't like french cars or east block cars, but with some exseptions if done right. Also have a soft spot for Datsun 240Z cars, they go along the Capris in style, and migt own one further down the road.
Sadly I have several health issues, the main one being chronic fatigue syndrome and tinnitus, I also use hearing aids on both sides. Due the cfs, I'm out of order for short or long periods, making my life difficult as some days I even struggle to get up from the bed. Therefore my project is coming along in real slow progress, but I get there in the end, I'm a stubbon character, my main reason I'm still going.
Location: Grimstad, Norway. Grimstad is a sleepy town in the south, a 30min drive from Kristiansand where the ferry goes to Denmark among other things.
There is several shows I attend each year.
#1 Right On Motorshow in Skien in the middle of June, mainy a US show, but there is attending everything from stock A Ford to Lamborghinis. There is stock and modified cars, pluss bikes, you are sure to find something that you like. Highlight the past years have been a T25 Transporter with twin turbo small block Chevy with 1000hp, fully street legal.
#2 The annual Norwegian Capri Club Meeting in August, that's the highlight for me as I got to meet old friends and talk Capri the whole weekend. Also good for getting ideas and spirit high to get on with you build you having at home. In the past I also have purchased several good parts there for my car.
#3 Hamresanden Ford meeting. This a local Ford meeting held in Kristiansand, hosted by the Granada club. The Capri club is invited every year.
#4 Speyer Capri Post Meeting - Speyer, Germany. This is a biennial meeting and the biggest Capri meeting in Europe, in 2015 there was over 300 cars attending. I love driving and this is a highlight both while driving and the meeting itself. My car have been off the road since late 2012, so I been a co-pilot in my mates 76' 2.9 BOA Cosworth powered Capri in both 2013 and 2015. I love to go to that meeting this year too, but expensive and the club has yet to make up a official planning for that trip.
In the media you can find me on Facebook as Richard Vågen.
Cheers Richard

Still have these 3:
Saab 93 2.0 LPT (2000) (Currently 38k miles) Mazda MX5 1.8iS (1997) (currently 71k miles) Ford Puma Thunder 1.7 (2001) (currently 78k miles)
I had the E39, SL and GTR all at one stage so it got a bit crazy on the driveway!
Regret selling some of those now!

Hello. I'm Justin (Fulvia1436). I'm developing my 68 Fulvia Coupé, basically to keep it running roadworthy, quick, and fun. The car's are fun to drive, by nature, and my aim is to increase that factor by improving the performance. You'll find some more info on the car, posted by my friend, Lukestew, on here. He's rebuilding a 1200 Fulvia Coupé, and is progressing well. Look forward to showing the car at Goodwood, on April 1st.

Name : Tom / Sharky Location : Brighton (ish) Retro/Interesting Cars Owned : *deep breath*.. loads.. over the years I've p**sed my money and the skin on my knuckles away on around 13 Opel mantas, escorts of varying pedigree and roadworthyness, a handful of yanks (at 19 I foolishly bought the rustiest '78 Trans Am and never looked back..) And any number of mk2 golfs, amazons, datsuns, Mitsubishi's (including an ill fated Starion wide body) a few mk2 Granny's (one 2.8 ghia x on juice, I'll dig out some pics) and.. a tonne of old beemers.. (my weapon of choice and also my downfall) currently I have just watched someone drive away in the 635 I fiddled with to a reasonable standard so I've bought an old-gimmer owned 75k on-the-clock W202 (never really owned mercs but always fancied one of these) with the promise of 'it's so clean I might leave it alone) and am already trawling ebay for splits.. curse word.. Shows Regularly Attended : Used to go to lots, haven't been to any for a few years, might start back up.. What are you hoping to do here: Feel normal about spending the weekend mopping a Toyota CROWN and getting all sexy over execu-barges with cut springs and velour interiors.. . Oh and possibly go to a few shows, laugh at my car, have a few Coronas and generally talk about rust.. Anything else: I've been lurking on here for years under a few handles that I can and can't remember, but just decided today was the day!

Name : Gus Location : Aberdeenshire Retro/Interesting Cars Owned : 1994 Jaguar xj6 (xj40) 3.2 Auto, just got this in a swap for a 2002 BMW 330Ci. Hopefully keep it running and get it back to decent condition. (found both foot wells full of water yesterday) 1981 British Leyland Land Rover with Ford 3.0 litre v6, undergoing restoration for the last 10 years, hasn’t finished itself so I may have to intervene at some point. This was my first car, it’s quite a nice example with vinyl door cards, carpet and roof lining. One day I’ll get round to finishing it. 1974 International Harvester 574, this is permanently broken, currently undergoing an engine rebuild. I bought another one to use as a donor but have now got two broken dismantled tractors. Other Cars (non-retro’s): 2003 Mitsubishi Shogun 3.5 v6 GDI (doing this up to sell, ran it for few years, really like it but it’s too thirsty. GDI engine is slightly over complicated for the application and been slightly unreliable, my kind of car) 2004 Range Rover TD6, bought this recently off a farmer, it had a screw driver as a key and came with a blood stained interior, a solid buy I think. (now the wife’s daily) 2008 Volvo v50 1.6D (dullest car ever) currently doing this up to sell, was me and the wife’s old daily drive before we decided we both actually want to enjoy life. Here’s my IH574 when it worked one day (was parked up here to get split for clutch repair). Excuse the colour, I painted it green just to confuse people. Engine I rebuilt for my Landrover (back in 2009 ffs), it's still not actually been on the tarmac! Shows Regularly Attended: None unfortunately. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook Pages: acd_motorparts on Instagram What are you hoping to see here: Been a lurker for ages, found this site is great for inspiration and ideas. Anything else we should know?: I’m currently an Electrical Engineering student and also self employed trying to sell the pile of car parts I have collected over the years. (acd_motorparts on Ebay and Instagram, no listings yet)

Why was the Starion ill-fated, if you don't mind me asking?! Rusty as curse word underneath.. had a mystery intermittent gearbox whine which sounded like forks in a blender and wouldn't go away even after a lot of work.. and it used to fill with water in the rain.. but not apparently with a hose.. much to my annoyance! Lovely car, not looked after by a previous owner and bodged to death.. even the most patient garage exorcism would then uncover the next superglued / chemical metalled bodge up, often where a more permanent repair would have been a cheaper option! When I was poking around at a bit of 'fresh' underseal under the barge one day and managed to dislodge about 3 pounds of wag disguised as floor, that's when I knew it was time to throw in the towel.. poor thing..

Name: Lee Location: North Yorkshire Instagram: ministrone75 Twitter: @ministrone75: Patina: Triumph Dolomite Sprint Honda Z50 Mini Trail Lambretta Li125Hi again all, I was a regular on this forum about 8 to 10 years ago but life, work and family commitments mean't that my spare time for cars has been greatly reduced. Having rediscovered retro rides and spending half of the morning reading through 'Readers Rides' threads, I thought it was time for a re-introduction. While I've been away I have found enough time to restore a 62 Lambretta Li and I've just bought a 73 Honda Z50 Mini Trail Monkey Bike to restore. A recap of my previous vehicles for older viewers I had this.... Then this... Then I bought this.. I then bought this and kept it for 6 years.. Before selling it and buying my current Triumph Dolomite Sprint.
