Just last week i took my mk2 escort off the road due to circumstances out of my control so now its locked away ive been thinking id like to change things a bit. I started this week by raising the rear suspension up two inches as when the kids are in the back the rear wheels run which is a bit of a pain, the trouble is i really like the look of my escort when its slammed on the deck so my thoughts turned to air bags. Imo it would give me the best of both worlds, really low for shows and a sensible ride hight for trailing the kids about. So heres my questions.
Is this a feasable idea?
1 Can it be done within a reasonable budget?
2 Can i use scrap yard stuff? Or am best to buy a kit?
3 What is the ride like on air suspension? (Bearing in mind my current set up is rock solid and rose joints every where so its clunky and noisey)
A long and drawn out build thread will follow if its a go as ive put the escort off the road for a minimum of 2 years so i can change it and do something different from the rest of the classic ford "scene".
Thanks for reading and you guys input is most appreciated
