Looking for a slightly cleaner look on my '24 and since fitting an awesome (IMHO) backflash, want to lose my rear wiper at least, (mr ben has inspired me) anyone done this? Simply remove the wiper and motor etc and stick a rubber grommet in the glass? Don't really want to be sourcing a new hatch  |

You can get a rear hatch/glass without the wiper hole, not seen one for a while, but you can get them.
Failing that a small rubber bung/gromet should do the job.
This is also on my to do list.

I had a quick look online a while ago for a little screw in blank, but all the proper options looked a bit pricy for what it is. I haven't bothered trying to source a rubber grommet, its way down the list of jobs to do, but that's what I would do! In the meantime I cut out a piece of drinks bottle...  + a Sticker  ...proper job! lol. If you find a little grommet to fit be sure to let me know too. I doubt the sticker will last very long! A cube owner has recently bought a glass blank for his window - you just provide the measurement and you get the right sized glass disc and silicone glue to fit in. Looks pretty seamless.

Looking at those links I'm thinking the ebay guy I posted is buying 99p tap blanks, spraying them and selling for a nice little profit as mine looks very similar.

I Googled the 'Glass blanks' that fr€$h&m1nt¥ mentioned and they can look pretty cool. Not the thing for my track slag but for a nice show-car that would be best. I have ordered a white tap blank to see if its good for the job. -Steve- |

I have just removed the rear wiper assembly from my 944. A cheapo grommet from Halfords (25mm diameter) has done the job for now. Whether it will be leak free is another answer (some Silicone sealant make allow this to be so.
ProMax's kit does not leak at all from the chaps I have spoken to. You guys should see what Porsche want for the 968 ClubSport Bung (it may be a small fortune).
From a security perspective I would go with either ProMax's kit or the Honda item.

I fitted a top cap to my 924,  Shifted the rusty washer since and it has been leak free with 1 rubber washer each side |
