MK2 Cortina heater box help?

I was wondering if someone can help here. My heater has always been disconnected as evidenced by the lack of hoses in the engine bay. I assumed that the core had leaked and been disconnected. Today I went to pull out the core for refurbishment....and there wasn't one. Does anyone have pics/diagrams of what the heater core looks like and how it fits into the heaterbox because I'm at a loss! Cheers!
