For Sale: The Pink Thing £3000ono
It’s with a heavy heart that I’m writing this but I can’t see it sit there not being used any longer! I’ve only been to a couple of local shows this year and this car deserves better than that!
Location: Poole, Dorset
1983 Honda Civic. 1.3 Hondamatic
47k miles
Gaz adjustable coilovers with approx 2k miles on them
Custom stainless exhaust built and fitted by Torque Technique approx 2k miles on it.
Lenso BSX Alloys with Kumho tyres, less than 2k miles on them. Also included a brand new boxed spare BSX and original Honda steel wheels.
I also sourced and fitted a honeycomb front grill at great expense! A rare little item! The original grill will be included in the sale.
Just had a new brake master cylinder fitted along with fresh MOT.
The only advisory on the MOT was that the wheels and tyres protrude from the body of the car.
The car was fully resprayed with the exception of the engine bay in 2009 and is still in excellent condition.
There are a couple of minor faults.
Firstly, If you nail the gas the car splutters a bit until the revs pick up and then pulls smoothly, also if you are steady on the gas it pulls fine. I’ve been advised that it’s likely that the carb just needs the jets cleaning or possibly new coil/points/leads, all very cheap and easy to sort.
Secondly, the rear tyres foul the arches occasionally. The arches have been rolled. The solution is as simple as fitting some slightly narrower tyres or raising the rear coilovers a little.
Overall it’s a cracking little car and has never let me down and if I used it more I wouldn't be selling up as it’s got donkey years left in it!
It was featured in the Jan 2014 issue of Retro Cars magazine, a copy of which will come free with the car!
Feel free to ask any questions.
Lots more photos in my Facebook albums.
