Well I bought a cheap 1986 Bluebird and the bloody wheel FELL OFF! It overtook me at 60mph and it bounced down the road... the whole thing was pretty hilarious to be honest. I found out what the issue was.. The Wheel bearing got so hot that it melted and sheared the axle stub. LOL So you can see my dismay! I can't find one ANYWHERE though and all the ones being broken on eBay are sold or just won't bloody reply. So I thought I'd ask you chaps what kind of solution you would suggest. I've bought a new wheel bearing I just need to find the rear hub assembly as the axle stub isn't a bolt in/out part and I can't even buy an axle stub separately. It's a T12 with rear drum brakes and it's the drivers side that's gone. Thanks in advance!

That's a rare sight, can't honesty say i've seen that before Your best bet is either an owners club or TBH ovalchat, that's something that will most likely survive racing and be salable after

Err brake pads look damn low there too hhaha Surely micra stubs will be similar if not same try cross referencing brake pads etc to see if they list them for say bluebird + micra etc

And after looking at your pics and way the bearing rollers have twisted would say that bearing fuses itself to the stub and broke Hahaha did a good job there anyway

I've tried searching for an owners club and there's nothing. Err brake pads look damn low there too hhaha Surely micra stubs will be similar if not same try cross referencing brake pads etc to see if they list them for say bluebird + micra etc The drum did hit them in a few places as the drum and wheel came off together. The stubs aren't bolt in/out they are pressed in and micra's are bolt in. And after looking at your pics and way the bearing rollers have twisted would say that bearing fuses itself to the stub and broke Hahaha did a good job there anyway Yea I did say this at the top of the thread haha Wasn't it making a bit of noise prior to letting go? As has been said try ovalchat I've heard noisy wheel bearings before and they are scary! This didn't make a sound!

On the ECP website part number: 102700148 for rear brake shoes also fit a Nissan Laurel or a Vanette - of those two the Vanette was quite popular but the Laurel was less often seen than the Bluebird.
Part number 628700500 for a rear wheel bearing fits the Bluebird and the Stanza.
So there you go... working on that basis there are 3 possible sources for parts. I'd probably start with the Vanette as it was a popular small van and you still see them on the roads today. They may even cross-reference with some Bedford parts.

Thanks for taking the time to search that! I 'Should' have a second hand unit arriving in the next day or two so I'll see how I get on.

Thanks man! Actually I sorted it! What I had done was tighten the rear axle nut too tight and it put too much pressure on the tapered bearings and BOOM curse word got serious. Lesson learnt though haha!
