Nice work Adrian- the devil's in the detail..!
Looks good and straight and the colour suits it perfectly. Got any interior shots - auto or manual..?

It's an auto, cabs are cruisers not racers and although the manual is quicker I'd take an auto every time.
Photobucket's lost my interior shots so the first two pics on here are about the best I can show you. I'll take some more when I get the car back next week. Basically it's blue with blue leather sports seats and rear headrests. It's all original right down to the tape player and best of all there are no cracks in the dash. The leather only has one little nick and I'm slowly bringing it back with lots of feeding, I don't like re-dyes, look too new and shiny. Besides, a bit of patina adds character. Oh, and I need a blue rear ash tray if anyone's got one!
Engine bay's cleanish, but could be a lot better. All in good time.

Lovely , I do like floppy top E30s , mines looking rough now so this might spur me to actually do something with it , washing it would be a good start That looks nice and original, and still rolling on bottletops. +1 It's looking a bit of a soap dodger. -1 Get busy with the bubbles my friend! I reckon that'd clean up nicely.

Soap dodger is very apt , not been washed this year as yet and its used every day , I just don't seem to get the time , its a poverty spec 318i with cloth seats and keep fit windows and sunroof and no power steering , only 70,000 miles from new and one carefull owner which sadly isnt me . Il keep an eye on this thread for inspiration . keep up the good work

Polished chrome and clean bottletops. Enough inspiration? Give it a real good valet, it looks like it would come up well. Might be the picture but it looks like it'd benefit from a machine polish too. I can't believe you haven't washed it this year. Raise yer game son!

Close of play today... Rear bumpers back on New plates fitted New boot seal fitted Still to do... Finish sills and generally make good, it'll be finished Monday. Then it's time for a service and MOT on Tuesday. Then finally I can get it home and detail the bejeezus out of it, it's full of filler dust.

It's a happy day in Retro Ade's house. Got the car back, fresh paint, new wheels, freshly serviced and best of all passed the dreaded ticket with no advisories.

Back end looking so much better. Really happy with the paint, that's not an easy colour to blend new paint with paint that's nearly 30 years old.

15" BBS wheels on, tyres off the original bottletops so I can refurb them. Now needs a good wash (remember them Remmoc?) as although the paint's polished it's still full of dust.

Gave the wheels and dusty tyres a quick clean. All I had time for today, the missus is laid up after a knee op and I'm on chore duty.

No jobs booked in today so tinkered around all day. First up made a start on the engine bay, there was 27 years of grime under the bonnet. Good clean down with engine cleaner and a toothbrush, bagged up the electrical bits and rinsed off. Finished off with a bit of dressing on the plastics and hoses and not a bad result for an hours work, there's actually shiny bits.

Then some hardcore detailing. Degreased, rinsed, clayed, hand polished out a few blemishes, pre-rinsed, shampoo'd, hand dried and finished with a huge dollop of wax. About four hours work in total, and well worth the effort, that's factory paint right there looking like a mirror.

Clay removed loads of crud from the boot lid, then a quick polish to pull out some light swirls.
