1994 316 Auto Touring in Laguna green. Let me be clear about this, this is a project, it has no MOT (lapsed in January and hasn't been retested) and is declared SORN, you will need to collect this on a trailer or transporter although it does run and drive. This is an ideal base for an engine conversion, being a late touring it has the 6 cylinder suspension and brakes with ABS.
The body is solid and good in all the right places, rear arches, jacking points, rear valance, trailing edge of front wings, scuttle, battery tray and sunroof are all good. There are a couple of minor rust scabs, one in the right hand rear door shut that extends onto the sill, not an MOT problem at present but will need treating so it doesn't become a problem (see pictures) and a small one in the left hand door shut near the bottom rear corner of the rear side window. Elsewhere there are a few small scabs on the tailgate. The left hand rear door has had a light scrape and would be better replaced and there is a small dent on the right hand rear door. Its 20 years old so there are some scratches around the car.
The engine has a noisy top end, I doubt its 'just the tappets' but I haven't checked. It does however start fine and runs albeit noisily. The gearbox seems ok but I've not driven it far. It has a leak from the steering rack that will need attention (perfect excuse to fit an E46 rack), I have drained as much fluid as I can and have removed the pump drive belt.
The interior is what can be best described as tatty although there are no gaping holes, its grubby, the drivers seat back has been 'retrimmed' with a different fabric, elsewhere there are two or three other holes and the headlining has been stapled at the rear. the carpets need a clean but appear intact.
In summary, a project car ripe for an engine swap with a solid shell that hasn't been bodged or messed around with.
Please note - it won't be sold on the wheels pictured as they're the spare set for my cab.
Price is £350 and you'll need to bring a set of wheels.
Located in south Norfolk.
Pictures below, however I would recommend viewing for yourself.
