Obviously, the nut holding the pulley on won't shift!
But having had a proper look at the pulley, can't see anything wrong with it! It looks fine, no real play between the 2 parts of the pulley and the rubber insert looks good too.
Or at least, it looks as good as it ever did.
I'm wondering if by cutting off the redundant power steering part of the pulley, could I have changed the vibration/noise, by unbalancing it?
The 2 idler pulleys make a noise, but I think that would be a constant noise and it'd increase with revs?
Normally, I'd just run the car till it broke, it's a good way to find out what's wrong, but I was hoping to drive to Barcelona and I'm not sure if the insurance will cover a recovery from Spain!
