I quite like these spoilers, I just don't know what they were on originally. I've only seen one fitted. Are they just an optional extra? Be good if someone could help! Cheers, Andy.

I worked with a bloke years ago that had a bog standard 1.1L that had one of these fitted. Maybe something ford offered for lesser models but only guessing.

Maybe aftermarket stuff? There was so much about in the 80s... Reminds me of bmw e30 parts often seen. It does look very much like an E30 spoiler. I would try to get one on but they have a circular bit missing (maybe for the BMW badge on the tailgate iirc)

Is it not the standard foam spoiler from the mk3 cabriolet?

I'll give it a go, pretty sure it was bought with it on there iirc, but worth a shot still I guess.

Is it not the standard foam spoiler from the mk3 cabriolet? All the cabby spoilers I've seen are thicker than this, and have a gap underneath rather than the slimline flush fitting type.

The thicker one with the gap is the xr3 affair... I've def seen this on many a mk3 cab, maybe the early years as I've also seen the gappy one

Brilliant cheers Twins. I'll keep my eye out in the breakers and ebay, pretty rare now I would imagine though. Thanks everyone for the input, much appreciated!
