Looking for some advice from any wiring gurus out there.
I'm re-installing an old Philips radio into one of my SS1s. I've converted the car harness to ISO plugs, and was intending to do the same with this head unit, so it's all plug and play to swap a new unit in in the future.
HOWEVER, the wires out of the back of this radio cassette have got me stumped. We have
Red 12v +feed
Grey +R
Grey/Black -R
Green +L
Green/Black -L
But then we also have a left and right bank of 3 wires
Right -
Blue
Blue
Blue/Black
Left-
Brown
Brown
Brown/black
Convention would suggest that the dual grey and green feed front speakers. But why 3 wires to each rear bank then? Or is this a split hi/lo feed for components - which would surely be in the front?!
FWIW there is no ground wire, it earths to the case from what I can see.
Googling the numbers on the back doesn't throw up much -
Philips Ministero P.T.N
79DC 102/50
Just out of guarantee which ran from 1985-1987
Help!
