Better Late Than Never: Moon Eyes SCN 2014
Ive got a zillion photos of this so here is part 1
So we worked out that when we were in Tokyo was also when the Moon Eyes Street Car Nationals was being held in Odaiba.... about 20minutes away from out hotel! WIN.
There was a real variety to the show, cars from loads of different scenes, with a strong American theme. (mostly) all beautifully turned out as well.
I apologise for the variable picture quality, I was having a difficult time with my camera...
The view when we got off the Monorail.... oh yeah this is going to be good.
The show's next door neighbour was on hand just to make sure no-one caused any trouble.
This thing.... wow.... don't know if its popped up in its own separate thread on here but it was amazing. All on air, loads of custom metalwork, the trailer was on air, and the tow truck was on air. Epic
said custom trailer
words fail me
GAH too dark
Towing rig
Oh ok Ill go back and look some more. That interior!
So we moved on from there (I took some tearing away)
Hardcore approves of this show
Minis and Minivans mixed it up
Mental interiors were a thing. I actually really liked the tatami mats and stuff in this one! Also loving the Chevy bowties in the wood
Lovely Corvair
Andy was still at the Impala
Lovely thing though. I *think* this one was a husband and wife.... the wifes lowrider hadnt come to the event though sadly (yes they had one each)
Tradestands were advertising a mix of things, including these printed sidewalls, you can just about see the machine in the backround.
Moody
Nice rod
MoonEyes own motors were proper lush
That aint no Dually! Single superwide rear FTW
Lights seemed slight odd, but still like this
Brown Camaro was so sexy, that paint!
(Told you about wonky pics.... nothing wrong with the content though)
Paint so deep it looks like you could dive right in....
Told you there was a lot of american metal
Little datsun was just RIGHT
Nash Metropolitans? Mint and used
SUDDENLY Off road racer
I don't understand how this axle works....
Rocker covers said LSX, everything else said business
There are a LOT of modern american cars in Japan, we were quite surprised. On a trip to Up!Garage we found it nestled amidst dealership after dealership filled with american cars / pickups etc
Faux rat is always a divider of opinion
Wouldnt fancy fitting this down most Japanese streets..... theres a reason most people drive Kei cars!
That aint no Dually! Wait wut... again? I didnt know this was a thing...
This floated my boat, crazy 4x4 minivan. Proper ace.
Teleported from Europe. Cant remember if this was on Aston wheels or aftermarkets
oh god I love 914s..... racey 914s especially
Yeaaaaaah
I have to go and do some work now, or something.
