Rover Metro 1.1L by KGF Classic Cars, on Flickr FOR SALE / 01733 425140 / 07976 935046 / sales@kgfclassiccars.co.uk / Peterborough / £1,695ono A Rover Metro 1.1L in astounding original order with just 15,604 miles and full history. EQUIPMENTLaminated windscreen, electric screen washers, styled halogen headlamps, lamps on warning buzzer, locking fuel filler, rear wash/wipe, heated rear window, courtesy lamp, digital clock, rubber fascia mat, soft feel steering wheel, carpeted rear parcel shelf, front door bins and armrests, swivelling sun visors with driver’s ticket pocket, split folding rear seat, passenger door mirror. Factory options; security coded Philips radio cassette (model R570), roof mounted aerial. EXTERIORThis incredible Rover Metro represents an early example of the first major revision undertaken by Austin-Rover to the iconic Mini-Metro, a car that played a huge part in upholding the manufacturer’s survival throughout the 1980’s and 90’s. This truly incredible 1.1L variant has covered a meagre 15,604 miles from new with just one former keeper! The striking paintwork in Flame Red (code COF) displays a deep rich shine throughout with an incredible uniform glossy finish. In harmony with the astonishing low mileage and cosseted ownership there is absolutely no corrosion to the underside or to the factory fitted panels. The unmolested appeal of this charming baby Rover is further emphasised with standard trim sections, colour coded bumpers and badges all present, correct and in perfect order. Even the supplying dealer number plates, tax disc holder and number plate etched glass remain in place. The remarkable condition of this perhaps once unassuming runabout will certainly prompt affectionate smiles from onlookers. A very rare find. INTERIORThe interior of this outstanding example is in perfect original condition and exactly as Rover intended. The pristine and comfortable interior in Jazz with Granite background colour scheme (trim code LOY) is completely free from wear. The durable vinyl door cards and soft grey carpeting firmly uphold the showroom fresh appeal of such an astonishingly low mileage example. The perfect fascia, dashboard and all switchgear is fully functional and the headlining is as new. The optional security coded radio cassette remains fitted and fully functional, although the digital display has partially faded. A humble adequately equipped interior in fantastic preserved order. A true nostalgia trip! ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONHoused in a spotlessly clean engine bay, the sprightly 1120cc transverse mounted OHC engine produces 60bhp at 6000rpm and 90Nm of torque at 3500rpm enabling a top speed of 94mph and a respectable 0-60 time of 13.7 seconds. The beautifully quiet and smooth yet frugal engine jumps into life at the first flick of the key and returns an excellent 41.2mpg average. The four speed manual transmission offers light and precise changes throughout the range and lively city driving manner. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESThe original 13” steel wheels display four perfect factory wheel trims with no markings whatsoever. The four road wheels are shod in brand new quality 155/65 R13 tyres with the spare tyre having masses of tread remaining. The original jack and toolkit are complete and housed in the pristine boot floor. The dual circuit servo assisted brakes with front discs and rear drums bring the car up to a steady, straight and assured halt. HISTORY FILEThis astounding example was registered new on 15th February 1991 by Rover Main Dealer The Ray Powell Group of Ilford to the first keeper Miss Vivienne West. Remarkably Miss West kept the Metro until September 2009 whereby only one further keeper has owned the car since. Despite the incredibly low mileage, fastidious servicing has been upheld with no less than 19 stamps in the original service record to illustrate the devoted ownership and to fully support the mileage. Majority Rover main dealer servicing and independent establishments thereafter, this lovely example has wanted for nothing. The history file further consists of previous MOT certificates and invoices as well as the original A5 wallet containing all handbooks, radio guides, service vouchers and all other point of sale literature. An original Rover Metro sales brochure and two keys both with selling main dealer fobs complete the history file. MOT September 2015, HPI Clear, Approved Used Car Check Certificate. There was one at the Peterborough Classic Cars show last weekend, but not one you would want to buy sadly! Really? You actually saw one!! + 10 Internet points to you sir I know of a mint FD VX/490 which I just lost out on bidding 2 years ago, and the winning bidder was a garage which for the past 2 years is still trying to sell it for just under £13 grand. He got it for i think £6,450 other than that Nothing. Thanks for the update Mr KG

That is so cheap, for the right person who wants to preserve and show it I would say in five years that will be a sought after car, if only I had room for it glwts

Exactly the same as one I had - J801 TAC.
It was a very willing little car, and would do 30mph in 1st gear! Lots of fond memories, mainly of the insanely small petrol tank and sneaking into an abandoned Maestro to upgrade to nearly matching foam headrests.

That is so cheap, for the right person who wants to preserve and show it I would say in five years that will be a sought after car, if only I had room for it glwts I paid £300 for one with a long MOT, very little rust, 2 owners and about 40k miles on the clock. With it sat in the yard looking at me I feel I may have paid too much even at that.
