Recently bought this to use daily until i fix my polo then it will be coming off the road for some much needed welding. As it stands just now with MA60 celica supra wheels, Desired lows, To achieve this will require some arch work and some jdm arches which I'm still unsure of.

Ive been quite busy with welding this thing up over the past few months, my first foray into a big welding job. Heres a few pics to bring it upto date. This was how much i had to cut out of the rear pas. side wheel well. Surface corrosion on the bootlid, Ground away rust, used a rust remover and thoroughly cleaned and painted silver as you wouldnt see it, couple of months past its its showing through again. Bottom of Pas. side door, most of the rust cut out, Drivers side wing off for a small repair and dent removal, nice surprise underneath, Decided to paint the back panel black but before that had fix a bit of rust at the latch and grind down a few blisters, After dealing with a lot of grinding, welding ,painting etc it was good to get some mods done, got the front lowered and one of the fender mirrors on. So i could see the light at the end of the tunnel then i found this, Oh well back to more grinding and welding, hopefully get this done in a few weeks time.

It looks like this car has found someone who is willing to breathe new life into it which is great to see...
This is a cracking little rarity so I can't wait to see this project progress...
Nice one!

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! More flippin RUST, when will it end, had i known it had this much i wouldnt have bought the bloody thing. Cant turn back now, to be able to do this safely i had to disconnect the filler neck from the tank and blank off the tank and breather in the filler neck. Here it is after i cut out the rust, Already got half of it welded up. But didnt take a pic.

Thanks for the support guys. Ive got a set of lotus wheels to go on it, you know... the ones you see everywhere as the offset of the celica supra wheels are to high after the car has been lowered. This thing is unbelievable, here is a pic of when i poked it with a screwdriver and then a pic of how much i had to cut out. From this, To this, Almost got one side done, total pain, looks curse word but it does the job.

So rear of rear arch done, messy but functional. Fitted a new 'gearknob', looks like something your nan would have.... in her living room. Lowered the rear but its not as low as i would like but cant go lower unless some major work is done. As you can see there is still some work to be done but this will have to wait, the car needs to get out of the unit.

Wow, that pic above is like a blast from the past for me personally. My first car was a Renault 18 (1.4TL), and when the bottom end went on that, my second car was the Stanza below.... Loved that car. Sold it for a Mk3 Escort. Regretted it, and bought a 5 door A plate Stanza very quickly to replace the Escort. Following this thread through rose tinted spectacles....

Thanks, i think when for sale the stanza would have felt like quite a modern car, i once owned that 18 and it feels a lot older to drive and its the same with the interior.
Got lotus wheels to fit on the front as the supra wheels are losing air due to being magnesium.

I love this and officially now need one in my life. Graphics and mirrors look very quintessentially 80s japan. Good work with the rust by the way you took some fair chunks out of that metalwork!
