Ok, I've had a weaping hose on my heater matrix for too long, I've finally fixed the leak but the air passing through the heater still smells of antifreeze. The leak was allowing a tiny amount of coolant to pass down the side of the heater, through some foam and into the fins of the matrix
I've dumped a can of brake cleaner through it but it has had little effect. Getting the matrix or heater out is a real ball ache but I can remove the hot air output hose and essentially pour detergent and water in without filling the car.
So the question is what is a good solvent or detergent to use? It's ethylene glycol based OAT antifreeze, the pink stuff.
Cheers
Brian
