I’ve bought another car and the Mazda is now being sold on to fund it.
The car passed the MOT in August, with one advisory for the two rear tyres, I had recently fitted two tyres on the front. Two new tyres were put on the car last week.
I bought the car last year and has never proven to be a headache, she has been my daily use for the year I’ve had it and it’s been a joy to ride around in. The car has been lovingly maintained and when required, it has been improved both inside and out.
This is a straight 4 cylinder, 5 speed manual with a weber carb and K&N filter. The box is smooth, to be honest feels better than most. The clutch is still strong and all suspension gives no signs of trouble. The car drives well, the engine is quiet and mechanically she is impressive. Most people who have worked on the car are impressed by the underneath of the car which shows no signs of rotting, it is pretty clean.
All electrics work including all four windows, heater, rear license plate lamps, interior lights. There is 79K on the clock and the engine certainly has aged well, it’s always warmed in the morning and oil changes have been made around 5K. The car all round is original except the alloys. I bought the car with the Kerscher Carmonas, these looked great when I bought the car but over time they have tarnished somewhat and could really do with a spruce up at some point.
Earlier this year I decided to have the radiator replaced as the old one was showing signs of leaks and did perform very well, I had a new larger rad made for the car which keeps the car extremely cool. When I bought the car, the previous owner had connected up a small electric fan to minimise drag and improve HP but this wasn’t efficient so this has been changed back to the original fan and cowl. The car has a box or two of spares and small parts that could be replaced or put back on. From memory there is the small electric fan, tow bar, springs, original pancake filter and a few miscellaneous parts. The original radio works and is still in there but a USB basic head unit has been installed which is controlled manually or with the small remote, this really has been a bonus feature!
In the last couple of weeks for whatever reason the driver side window gets caught on something before going down completely, it is probably a really easy fix I just haven’t had a moment to look. I also should add the carb could probably do with a look at as the idle when cold is too low and this just makes it a bit jittery at first, again an easy thing to do but I haven’t been using the car much.
I would suggest coming to look at the car and I can take you for a drive, it would also be beneficial because of the body work. The body work is not terrible but age related marks let the car down, everyone loves to look at the car and to be honest it adds character, if I had the experience or kit I’d probably do some work myself but I’ve grown to like it how it is.
The car is being sold on RR forum at the lowest price I’d take.
