Radweld plus or K-seal? Anyone used either? Need a cheap fix til I get the time and money to do a proper fix  losing coolant at about a litre every couple of weeks with no obvious leaks. Anyone? Seems like the feedback is good for both products but 1st band experience is always better |

Kseal if internal rad weld for external (usually larger) leaks.
I've used bot on many occasions, being a scruffy back street garage we get lots of tight/broke customers who want a cheap fix (which invairiabley they never get round to doing properly) but K seal seems to last very well on H/G leaks (internal), radweld is good on rad leaks and the like but isn't as long lasting as Kseal, more down to the position of the leak than the product IMHO.

Used radweld a few times on minis with big leaks around the header , lasted for months .

I've used Radweld on a massive radiator leak on a Golf for a broke student, it stopped it instantly and lasted years. I used it on my brother's van when he had a steady small loss we could never trace. Again, it did the job and lasted for as long as he had the van.
No experience of K-seal. I think it's more for internal problems and I always fix them the old fashioned way.

924 no evidence of leaks or head gasket issues but something is obviously wrong as I'm using about a litre of water every couple of weeks  |

K Seal is what we use on anything like porous V8s and is very effective. On a rad leak, blutack, I plugged mine and it lasted nearly 3 months and only went when I got a re-core.

Okay, quick update....got my 'k seal' from ebay which turned out to be 'seal it professional' not sure if it's the same stuff? ...anyway,put half a bottle in, topped up the coolant and all appears well so far, no coolant loss and she's flying again...huge increase in performance so I'm guessing there must have been a head leak somewhere? I'll keep you posted but so far so good |
