I've read through the on-line MOT VOSA site and haven't found a yes or no answer!
It's a PUG 205D and one front sidelight only works with the ignition on....French electrics! All the rest of the sidelights, front and back work with the ignition turned off, the N/S front only works with the ignition on.
MOT fail or not?
Thanks

Fail, if fitted it must work correctly, ie with the engine running.

Its probably still not on with the ignition, they have a dim dip system.

There are a bunch of electrics near the headlights in a brownish kind of bag if yours still has all of the factory gubbins. Carefully give a wiggle and the sidelights may well be restored back to working order.

Fail, if fitted it must work correctly, ie with the engine running. Fail, yes, but not just with the engine running - Front and rear position lamps are tested with the ignition off, as are the hazard lights. They are then re-checked with the ignition on. FWIW, welshpug's advice is probably right, check that when it works with the ignition on that it is illuminating the small 5W bulb as well as the dim-dip from the main headlamp bulb. Failing that, it could just be french...

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in
