Hey folks,
I realise this is a bit of a specific question but I think it can be answered generally. I'm trying to sort a low mileage Mk3 supra that is suffering from some bottom end knocking. A pic for your time:
I have spoken to Toyota and they can supply all the crank bearings (Mains & Big Ends) for £230 or about £25 per bearing. This is with a 12 week lead time!
Looking online (eBay), I have found a couple of American shops selling complete rebuild kits including HGs, pistons and all gaskets, plus the bearings for what seems too cheap ~£300 delivered to the UK. The kit I'm referring to is here: Supra Rebuild Kit on eBay
They also have other kits for a variety of engines, all coming in at a similar price point. I don't know how much of the kit I will need/use but it seems daft not to get all the extra gaskets which I will no doubt need at some point.
So the question is, does anyone have any good/bad experience with these or something similar? I have tried UK suppliers but not come up with anything other than the Toyota option.
Cheers,
Sam
PS - Can anyone recommend which Supra/Mk3 forum to join in terms of which is most active/useful? Thanks
