Afew years back a scumpot knicked my mk2 Granada. Once bitten twice shy and all that, ill never be without security now. Heck if i had another granada id probably physicly chain it to the ground.

check your home insurance, I have a weird thing under home emergency cover were they will replace vehicle locks up to £500 for " lost " keys

Just had a quick chat with an auto locksmith, who says that the lock on the cap only has four 'tumblers' whereas the other locks and ignition should have six, so it's unlikely that any key made from the cap will be of any use.

Lol me too, i allways put in a tenna at a time, could well be they just wanted fuel, went for oldest (and thus probably the easyest) car in the carpark and got stuffed cos the fuel was too low to get any, ni on all modern cars have an anti syphon trap in the filler neck, older cars tend not to (i do a lot of missfuels so know this from experiance)  you can get a lot of fuel out a tank with an EFI pump mounted on a jerry can (12V supply obv needed) in a short space of time ? |

A few simple touches can improve your security.
Valve in the fuel line.
Valve in the brake circuit.
Switch in the ignition circuit and starter circuit
Switch in the light circuit.
All simple cheap mods that make it harder to drive away

It will come in handy even if you never use it
