This will not be a fast moving thread initially so bewarned impatient types!
So, a little introduction to my hoard. Hopes and dreams and empty wallets will fill these forthcoming posts, some cars I've owned and will continue to own for a long time, others are the result of things not going quite as planned and will probably find themselves with a new owner at some point in 2015.
So first up I give you the Datsun B310. This low milage and unmodified example is a 2-door sedan. I first saw one of these sitting on the deck, alone, in a carpark in Nagoya, Japan in 2005. I instantly wanted one and despite years of trying to find and buy one, this, the only example I managed to find came available shortly after I bought my Datsun 510... bummer. Timing wasn't ideal and I had to buy it blind as I knew if I didn't buy it, I would end up regretting it forever. Hence the old saying "it's always better to own a car you want, instead of turning your nose up at the opportunity and killing yourself"
Currently stock as a rock... albeit a rock with rusty door bottoms. Check that ride height! RWDtastic! Plans for this involve fixing the ridiculous landrover style suspension, chuck on some wheels from my surplus (probably banded steels), fix the rot, fit fender mount mirrors and a chin spoiler (see my chin spoiler thread for more on this).
Next I give you the Mitsubishi Colt Celeste GT. This little beauty came up for sale a few months ago, a phone call was made.... followed by another and another until a deal was agreed upon. My trusty friend with a transporter was then off on his merry way to collect her.
Despite a bit of light bubbling on the bonnet edge she is solid and again completely stock. Being a GT this sports the cockpit themed dash, deep steering wheel, 2 litre engine with twin carbs and a 5 speed box. Really love the mustang style paint theme (factory) and being the prefacelift model has the awesome boomerang rear lights.
The plan is to give it a more appropriate ride height, stick on some wheels I've got knocking about (probably SSR MK1) and give it a clean/polish.
Not so retro and not what I wanted. This was result of a deal going bad with buying a car in Japan. I sent money over to an old friend/car trader who I'd bought from in the past as he was advertising a Nissan PS13... He did a bunk with the money, things got messy and after a year I ended up with this.
Sadly due to the circumstances, I really have no love for this car despite being a very well put together and set up car that was well known on the Japan street drift scene.
For those who don't know it is a Nissan Skyline R33 sporting a RB25DET 2.5l turbo. It has a pretty comprehensive list of modifications. I've already bought some bits to fit and make it a bit more presentable IMO so once I get that done we'll see if my mind changes about it.
The BRAT... I really didnt need anymore cars when I saw this for sale but again, ambition got the better of me and I thought "why the feck not?!"
This tasty little Subaru is a 1 previous owner car, much like the B310 above even has the original working radio fitted. I have some BIIIIG plans for this which I wont divulge just yet, I did show this to my 18 year old brother and asked him "what do you see?" and his reply was surprisingly exactly what I thought... perfect!
1000 INTERNET POINTS to the first person to correctly name this car... 10'000 to the first person to correctly name the wheels!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand to end today (but not the list) my personal favourite....
My Datsun 510.
Bought these for it...
I also have a chin spoiler... currently collecting parts to lower it
Well done to anyone who read this far without getting bored.
