Good day ladies and gents,
recently I became the happy owner of an audi b6 and after a couple of weeks of ownership I came to the conclusion in required an update in the audio and navigation department.
this particular one came equipped with the audi's basic audi concert and a gps in the instruments cluster (something kind of rare from what I read), however, no maps dvd came with the purchase and audi sells these, for a ludicrous amount, so this left me with a pointless feature.
now I'm faced with a predicament:
1) disregard in-built gps and move on to either RNS-D (RNS-E are hard to find used and usually at really high prices for me) or an aftermarket equivalent, although killing 2 birds with one stone, since I would upgrade the headunit from this basic audi concert.
2) bite the bullet and get the dvd's, simply upgrade the radio to something more 2014
I'm not exactly on a wide budget, and that's what makes the choice difficult.
should anyone have any other suggestions, I'll be more than happy to take them, as my objectives are:
-Get connectivity for Phone/usb/mp3 player/aux (bluetooth is not something I "need")
-Get a GPS
-Maintain the OEM look as much as possible.
-(optional: utilize the current GPS hardware)
edit: what about a tablet as the car head unit?
Thanks in advanced for any and all answers/suggestions!
