I'm thinking of taking part in the two ball rally in the upcoming year and struggling on inspiration for a vehicle. to be entered in the banger class the vehicle must cost less than £567 but mods are allowed ?? It must also be able to complete the drive from St Omer to nice, France it must be reasonable to insure as my team will all be aged between 17-19 so lets here your ideas, interested to see what's availible on that kind of budget www.twoballbangerrally.co.uk/the-route.html

between 17-19 there isnt going to be anything reasonable to insure!
povo spec pug 205 should be within your budget if your willing to have a good look around for one, depends how far you want to go with mods as to how interesting it gets!

Its going to have to be something with a 1 litre engine, its going to be small and not much fun, insuring a car for those age groups isn't easy these days.

Before you progress any further investigate insurance. It'll be bad enough for one under 21 year old never mind 3 or 4. Then add the fact you will be involved with a road based event and expect even higher premium. So what sound like a great fun idea could end up costing you £5000 just for insurance.

When I go on these rallies I use www.hertsinsurance.com/banger-rally/They are really cheap for short term team cover but we are all in our 30s !!

If you want something cheap and reliable, go for a mk2 polo breadvan.
