Although the vehicle was offered with, amongst others, the above engines, what will be involved to do the above? Engine mounts, radiator and what more? Gearbox - are they different? Solution older Toyota 5-speed? Diff ratio? Thank you!

Seems a whole lot of work for little or no gain, Essex V6 heavy, juicy, expensive to get decent power from, against modern 4 pots, be better fitting zetec can be made to marry straight up to a type 9 or MT75 even the I14 engine that was fitted to Sierra,s would be better, stick an RS2000 head on it and there you go.

Did you get the Zetec in SA?
As you know Samcor developed the Essex well into the 90s - the XR6 in your P100 for example but right up to the injection version in the 3.0i RS, so not quite the boat anchor we associate with mk1 grandads and Scimitars in the UK.
I would imagine SA Sierra shells were similar from the 1.6 Kent to the Essex, so physically fitting it shouldn't be a problem - simplest would be a complete wrecker obviously but as you say, rad, box, diff are the main changes. The toyota box is a popular upgrade (although rare in UK) - type 9 on an adaptor plate is more common here.
