Back in mid-July I swapped my beautiful 1068 Daimler for this lovely 1968 W108 280SE The very next morning (13 hours after collecting it) it was MOT'd and on the road. It shares storage space at Area 52 my other road going rolling project (and automotive love), my Land Rover. I have to pinch myself whenever I see either/both of these cars and realise that they're mine! It made its debut at the Gathering this year. Driven there and looked after by Dave because I was in the LR. Next big event was to head 210 miles to Dez's to help him with an engine swap in his hot rod, then another 50 odd miles to Players show then another 150+ miles home after that. Dave drove it for this too because, again, I was in the Land Rover. Even with the bad weather, I had a great view for that 400 odd miles! The only let down on the trip was the alternator packing up on the LR. A heroic save thanks to rmad, and a set of jump leads brought all the way from his house over an hour away, and we were on our way for the rest of the weekend. Many thanks again Rmad! Next up was playing wedding car for tom13 on here. A trip to Devon to chauffeur his lovely bride to be around and it all went really well. What a day, what a couple! Proud to have been a part of it. Super poud of the car too.... Lastly, for now, it made an appearance on the Wheel Whores stand at the recent 'Ultimate Stance' show in Telford. OK, so it wasn't anywhere near as modified as some of the other cars, but it got some great reactions and Dave loved driving it again (Yep, I was in the LR!) So that's over 1,000 trouble free miles without even thinking about it. It's a lovely car and I have a feeling it might be staying in the fleet a bit longer than I had originally anticipated. It really does get under your skin. Thanks to South Wales Car Club for this shot:

I ended up with this after a few owners and at some point it was on BAT, a 1967 250s Euro model with a manual transmission. Sadly the lower half of it was made out of brillo pads and filler. Good news though it will live on in part in another '66 250s that is rather sound but has stood for years in a garage.
