Just picked one of these up, and I'm slowly grinding to a halt with it... I tried joining TotalCarlton but still waiting for forum approval. First question, is anyone here on there that could request a mod to approve me? Second up, does anyone currently own one that wouldnt mind snapping a few pics of certain parts of theres? My one has beent he subject of substantial fuckery, and sadly I have parts compeltely missing which is making replacement purchases a tricky and potentially costly prospect. As all threads are worthless without visual stimulus, see below!!

2.0 8V. Even that is a source of ambiguity as its danger close on a timing belt change, and there are multiple belt options for it!!

What do you need pics of? I've got a couple of these on the way in the next few weeks but I know them fairly well and I'm happy to help with a bit of knowledge if I can!

My heater system is not working. The blower motor is in a state of disarray and there is clearly a resistor pack missing. Problem is the one i found in the glovebox does not sem to match anything under there. I suspect I may be short of a cover too as the motor looks quite exposed. Some pics of how it all looks under the scuttle would be very useful!
Are you breaking them dude?

Ive got a Lotus replica and can take pictures at some point... probably the weekend.
cambelt options shouldnt be hard to work out on a C20NE.
I posted this onto Total Carlton for you too. Its a good website with some very helpful members.

Yea, I will no doubt pop on there once a mod approves. It looks to be just age revisions on the C20NE, with the water pump drive swapping locations..
Appreciate the help!

Total Carlton is pretty much dead, but I can tell you all you need to know!
The 8v lump has 4 variants on the belt, tensioned using the water pump, auto tensioner and different teeth shapes too.
I assume you plan to keep the 8v lump then? Not looking for something a bit more fruity?

Johnny, yhpm, but no I plan on keeping it. The 2.0 was my reason for getting it. Had a 3.0 Camry and it was too thirsty for the commute. This is much better so far (on fuel anyway...)

The 2 litres are non interference so no massive cambelt worries. I did 2 on mine in the car park at work, didnt take long

The results are in. Heater motor dead. I pulled it out tonight at with direct power there is nothing.
Coupled to that, I certainly don't have a traditional Carlton thermal resistor multi plug if eBay is anything to go by.
Pics to follow...

That is the original, My girlfriend accidently removed it from my door pocket and chucked it in the boot of the camry. Apparently the resistor stops working and needs cut and bridged to make the blowers work. Doing this didn't make any difference as you've found out the motor is goosed...

Ah, I see.
Anyone know the part numbers for these, or can shed any light on why this Carlton is different from the usual array of parts offerings?
