Ok, a bit of a cryptic title but I am now the happy owner of TWO Reliant Scimitars. My totally awesome '71 SE5 has been joined by a capable '79 SE6a. Here are the two siblings together: The new arrival (the Black one for non-Scimitarites) is reasonably well known in Scimitar circles as it was the first documented (possibly the first ever?) Omega V6 engine conversion and has since spawned a few more conversions. Obviously all credit for this is with the previous owner. First job will be to empty all the bits from the boot and do some cleaning. Then I'll assess what needs doing and in what order. I'm actually looking forward to going to work tomorrow! Smiler.

She's rougher in the, erm, plastic.
I put the spare leather seats into dry storage today along with the remains of the original dashboard and centre console.
It needs a blumin good clean out first. All the hinges need lubricating and the passenger door is stuck shut.
There are no brakes due to a burst pipe but a replacement is on its way.
First job is going to be to remove the present interior (pretty shot) to dry out and try to fix the water leaks. The sunroof is leaking and will probably just get sealed closed permanently.
There's a lot of silicon sealant appearing to be holding various bits of trim etc.. in place.
But the first job I think is going to be to start a project thread.
As this has already got a working engine conversion the plan is to get it up to MOT standard ASAP and then treat it as a rolling project with my (7yr old) son. It will then assume tow-car duties for the Yellow Scimitar that is being built with more of a motorsport focus. I'm thinking Hill-Climbs and sprints. I have an engine waiting to go in which will immediately put it in the Sports Libre class but I don't care, I'll be competing against myself in anything I enter it into anyway.
Xenocide - It's at work at th moment, but due to appear at home just before Christmas.
Cheers,
Smiler.
