What a great little car. I like the wheels. It is as you said a thing that can easily be changed back. I think it suits the car.
I remember buying a brand new green metallic Panda selecta in 1992. I had all the extra's in the book put on. Borbet wheels, sunroof, radio, you name it, I had it put on. A great little car. We had to sell it after 9 months as it was just to small for us. But a great car.
I would when the weather is looking good spend some time under the car. Just clean it paint it, make it look good. I do those jobs when I am out of pocket and want to do something. Just get something under your head and get a small steel or brass brush and clean away. I saw there is some surface rust under the car. It doesn't do the car justice. It's to nice to have a dirty bottom.
Good luck mate she is a little beauty!

The surface rust on the subframe/ rear beam has been painted black, just didn't get any pics of it. I've also bought a 2nd set of door mirrors which are away to get painted in body colour. My work are painting them for free and the mirrors were cheap so if I don't like it it takes 10 mins to swap back and hasn't cost much

I had a 95 75 elx as my first car in silver. Never got to drive it as I didn't have a job at the time but seeing this makes me wish I did. I also had 2 Mk2's and they were fantastic. One done 1000 miles in a weekend to Cornwall and back with a big oil leak and not a murmur.
Looking forward to seeing more.

My family and I have had 5 punto's or varying models, always had a soft spot for the mk1.
Got to say, every one of them has been 100% reliable, people knock them for being curse word, but if you look after them they're bombproof.

Nice, excellent attention to detail, I love the proper fiat accessories.
I had a 20k mile 55SX in the same colour when I was at college, great car but I wanted the ELX like my mate had, nicer trim, special door trims with extra speakers, ahh.
I went and bought a new mk2 sporting when I was 18, but it wasnt as good, rear suspension was curse word and the front top mounts allowed lateral movement.
I went back to the Fiat dealer after 6 months, they had a mint 1 owner 90ELX Cabby and traded in then and there. They thought I was mad but it was great. Had a couple of Sportings and a GT aswell. Love little Fiats.

Spent this evening building back up the door mirrors which have been painted exploit yellow. The body shop at work took a week as they were doing them in downtime for me as a favour but I am more than happy with the results. Fitted them and went to tesco for munch to celebrate......

Seeing as I was on a roll today, I tackled another couple of jobs on the car, which were both a pain in the . I painted my new exhaust with VHT aluminium paint to 1. Help protect it and 2. Make the u deride look nicer as it was covered in marker pen part numbers. It's not a genuine exhaust and is a slightly different shape to the one that was on before, but it works, even though it has a small dent in the backbox. It's been sitting on a shelf in my work for around 5 years and for what it cost I don't mind. Whilst I had the paint out, I decided to freshen up the engine bay, as show season/ good weather is coming up. Third pic is me with a coffee at the front door admiring the view while the engine is running curing the paint.

This morning was also cavity waxing into every single hole I could get to.
My wife didn't see the funny side when I come up into the bedroom with the can.......
Anyway the morning was spent stripping the door cards/ boot trim/ soundproofing from bonnet and rear lights making sure the car was packed with wax. Every rubber grommet I could find on the car was removed and sprayed.
This car WILL NOT rust if I can help it.

Thanks.
Exploit yellow is awesome, such a 90's colour.
Off on holiday this week so going to put some miles on it and stretch its legs a bit. Have the Scottish Italian day to go to the end of May and have a few wee jobs to do before then so hopefully the weather will keep nice
