The kind of wide arches that are pulled out to cover the wheels but don't go flush into the side of the body. The just leave them open. Kind of like this; Maybe not that extreme. I know there's a very nice DTM style E30 with them but I can't find a single picture. I was just having trouble describing it to a mate and was hoping to find some nice examples. I've currently got them fitted to my imaginary project car.

i've seen them called delta style arches based on the lancia delta.
not sure if that's the official term or if they're also named after other similar cars with them as standard or at least racing spec standard if that makes sense.

It varies as a lot depending on what the manufacturer named it, usually ''widebody'' box arches/flares, overfenders, E30 evo's have a widebody with small a box arch, Rieger make a widebody kit with wide flared arches
edit to add the above escort is how its done I'd love to build one and drive it daily, It'd brighten everyones day

Always been a box arch to me, and in the land of Ford they'd be called X-pack arches.

If anyone has a picture of the white E30 that was at the gathering this year, that has the kind of arches I mean. Spent ages looking and I can't find it.
Imagine if the aches on that Volvo didn't come back in to meet the doors. Leaving a gap/vent. Looks hard but can't find any examples!

I know the sort of thing you mean, Japanese Super GT cars often have the big openings behind the arches but not quite as boxy arched Or a Zakspeed capri? I can't help on a definitive name for them I'm afraid but awesome arches is a decent start
