After the fire debacle with the horrible poltergeist infested curse word that was the Granada I was feeling a bit dejected with cars in general. Fortunately Foxy came to the rescue with the offer of a free Cinquecento, no tax or test and needed picking up from Cleethorpes. A plan was hatched involving me getting the train over on the Friday, drinking a large amount of cider then driving it to a booked in MOT on the Saturday. Unfortuately we broke the sump getting it from its resting place so ended up drinking more cider, with me eventually passing out on the train home and waking up in Sheffield. Soooo another plan was hatched, involving mk14dr's Volvo estate, a gigantic Brian James twin axle trailer and a late night excursion to grab it, which went pretty much to plan. So what have I got you may ask? It's a 199? (think its on a M) Fiat Cinquecento Sporting, with a 1.2 8v Punto engine fitted, lowering springs and a Mini exhaust. 60-ish bhp's of FIRE. You can see here where i've removed the battery and eying up places for the header tank to make room. First job - strip everything. Half dash, all sound deadening gone etc etc usual stuff. The intial plan was to chuck a single bucket seat and harness in and get it going as is for the winter. However through a deal involving people who owed me money i'm now the owner of a Vitara Fatboy that'll do for winter. I quickly came to the conclusion that I haven't had a car that has scared me in a while, did a bit of googling to check prior history and bought a Honda B16 V-Tec engine off of one of my mates. Combined with all the spares i've got from doing our kids CRX i've ended up with all the bits to convert it for a very low price. Project Kanjo Cinq is go. Police love to hate me.

Stupid wide 13" J-tin wheels, an obscene rear wing and a suitable paint job and this little buzz bomb will look the part.
When you get this on the road and give me a ride in it, I'll buy you a hockey mask for proper kanjo-zoku driving fun!
Really looking forward to the updates on this one!
Rysz.

Mint! Make sure you keep this updated. Mine was great fun and that was standard apart from a bigger tb. Would love another.

Its going onto 15" wheels, got some super authentic Racing Hart's for it and ive just bought a set of 195/45 Yoko Advans for it for some white letter goodness. They'll also clear the brakes ive got in stock which are 280mm disks and brembo's. I'm hoping for stoppies if I can get it to stick.

It wont need it, it got dyno'd at 190bhp with the stock inlet. On bike carbs it should go do 200bhp, that's 350+ bhp/ton it'll slay pretty much everything on the road anyway.

190bhp this thing will be stupidly quick.
Are you sticking the engine in the front or mid mounted?

Its still going to be front wheel drive. Its what I can drive quickest in, and its too short for rwd. I had a go in a rwd vtec Mini a few weeks ago and it was curse word.

i've got my hands on a cinquecento with a Seicento sporting engine to swap into it, splicing the loom is the only thing that's scaring me at the moment.

You forget how small these are until you have one on a HUGE trailer behind a 940. It'll weigh the light end of F-all now aswell. I look forward to having a go in this when it's done (and the Vitara when I get the Volvo stuck at the first wisp of snow)

Think they weigh about 750 kg, even with very basic motors these things shift!
