How to unlock a steering wheel lock

I recently sold the key from a jag x300 I'm breaking , unfortunately I can unlock the steering wheel lock as I don't have the key , is there a way of unlocking it without the key?

take all the plastic of around the column, you should be able to grind the barrel/lock of without 2 much aggro, just remeber it probably be ally, so wont throw sparks that you can see, so wear goggles! (voice of experience)

that or what matey said, jump on the barstward and itl probably snap, or if ur your really fat it snap your ankle.

I had a similar problem on a Renault 18 I was breaking, lost the keys, lol.
I ended up just grinding the bracket that the ignition barrel was attached to on the steering column off with a slit disc, steering column obviously gubbed at this point but I didn't want it anyway.

If you're wanting the column you can undo the bolts clamping the ignition barrel to the column with a hammer and punch. Loosen them both then remove one and itll loosen enough to drop the steering lock off.
