That mk2 fiesta was a superb car, bought from a neighbours family after he died for 200 quid, it had to go cos I had nowhere to keep it as I had three cars at home then

Mk2 Fezza's are smashing little runarounds Had a Tweety pie Yellow Ghia one back in the day - loved it!! cheap and simple - like its owner

Difficult question I know, like being asked to choose between your kids.

I'm loving those mk II Cortinas, but that Granny, then those sharp looking Capris, the Scimitar... tough choice. It's fair to say you've had some fine cars there.

The blue mink f reg mk2 cortina loved that car.... But I was self employed at the time and the friendly taxman hit me for £5000 I had to sell the cortina to pay

Good choice, both those mk II's jumped out at me, both cracking colours. Close behind comes that white Capri S, it just looks pin sharp.

Is that silver mk V Cortina a 2.0 S ? Remember a mate having one in the late 80s.

The mk5 was a gl totally standard when I bought it was a very clean car, it went through 3 owners in quick succession when I sold it don't where it is now

I do like black and silver plates, they suit that Capri so well. I know they're a marmite thing on post 72 cars, I can hear the purists screaming nooooo already, but they do look cool on the right colour cars.

Really tempted with a set for my 325i as they'd look amazing against the Cirrus Blue but I live a mile from Suffolk Plod HQ and I'd be getting the wrong kind of attention every time I drove it.

Nice cars - you're partial to a Cortina then ? love the Capri - used to have a Mk2 2.0L JPS back in the day, wish I had it now !

Had lots of Fords in my days, several MK 1 Escorts, MK 3 Escort + Capri, 3 Mk 1 Fiesta's (1 Ghia in yellow), two Sierras, but for no particular reason, I never had a Cortina :-(

I see no Escorts ??

Back in the 80s and early 90s I had more mk1 escorts than I can remember from 1100L models up to mexicos somewhere around 200! I'd be rich if had just one now! Used to buy mk1s for £200 back then good days, my parents hated the constant throng off cars around our close, the neighbours hated me,,, wish I could go back for just one day!

200 Escorts ?? Wow, gawd - I thought I'd had a lot at 8 or 9 Mk 1's !! had a 1300 XL and a 1300E and a Capri Mk 2 at the same time, thats only three at same time, but 2 more than everyone I knew at the time !
My parents were the same - as I was still living with them at the time  they'd say "not another bl88dy car"
I assume its Mercs now ? are you in the motor trade one way or another ?

Yep my parents especially my dad got me into cars from a very young age,, my dad was a London black cab driver for 30 years so I remember well from a young age helping change clutches and doing brake shoes on fx4s, my mium and dad bought my first mk1 escort for me aged 15, I worked on it for two years passed my test and sold it to buy a 1300gt, owned some lovely old fords over the years but the prices of them now are crazy, with a wife two young kids and a mortgage it had to be something cheaper! The first c class merc I bought is now being used daily by the wife, I will never sell it a 250 turbo diesel the car is the best motor I've ever owned had it 4 years and just tyres and routine work we love it..the big old E class had to go just not the same build quality as the older mercs. I'm hoping to buy a jaguar xj8 or s type very shortly always wanted one and there cheap as chips at the moment,no I'm not in the trade but just love old cars, only ever bought two brand new cars an Orion Ghia si back in 1994 and then a rover 214sei in 1996 never will I buy new again total waste of money!......just off up to my mum and dads place for tea might tap em up for some jag funds!

After seeing your Mercs in the flesh/metal I can safely say they are the nicest examples I've seen since I sold a few at Rolls in the early nineties.
