I did do a big introduction to this. But then the computer froze Ive just bought my latest project, after not messing with cars for the last couple of years appart from building my TDI T4 and some conversion work on my T5. This is a bit different for me. Ive had alot of different bikes over the years but never had the urge to build anything brat/bobber styled... So thats what this is.... A first year (1980) GSX250 DOHC 8V TWIN Got it cheap, With a free rust hole in the tank, Gonna go the vintage/brat look, with firestone deluxe tyres and banana grips and tuck n roll flat seat., Bob the back end with a rolled kicked up bar and see if i can get the forks a little lower.. here it is..~

And this is where ive got to so far... Stripped it down, got some oil down the bores and rocked it back and forward in gear and its all free supprisingly (off the road near the sea since 1999) Hooked up a battery and hotwired it and the electrics seemed to work (since ripped it all off so not sure why i checked) But the starter also works, and spins it over great. , was a worry as they are hard to get working ones, and this doesnt have a kickstart...

Good luck I do enjoy a good brat, something I'd never even heard of until a few months ago.
Its something I would like to have a go at building myself but having recently passed my test I would like a few miles under my belt before I risk a styled bike.

Some days you just need to take a grinder to an inanimate object, just to make your day a tiny bit better!!

Cut two inches off the bars and layed them back, Only did this as i was toying with the idea of a set of Triumph T100 bars which i could cut, But didnt like the idea of cheap indian chrome, when the original bars on this are mint and lovely and shiny... Also primed all the areas and tabs that need cutting off

I haz spares Quick trip to near enough the same place the main bike came from, Got me this big haul of parts. Its an entire 81 GS250 in parts. Someone already started a caferacer style conversion on it... I'm going to use the hubs to lace up some spoked rims, Probably use the tank too. But not only that, It has an entire gasket set with it, a good solid engine (runs) good carbs, brakes etc... Basically most of the parts i needed.. Got it all mega cheap too
